Get Ready for "Anchorman" the Sequel! See What Will Ferrell Revealed!

For fans of the "Anchorman" film, this news may be an Afternoon Delight!

Apparently, Will Ferrell is set to meet with Paul Rudd and Steve Carell to discuss ideas and salaries!

Rumor is, the setting of the sequel will bring 1970s anchor dude Ron Burgandy to the 1980s! BRILLIANT!

Ferrell, during his "Land of the Lost" world press tour, visited the show of popular Australian radio hosts Jono & Dano and confirmed that the stage is set for "Anchorman 2."

Ferrell says he's meeting with Rudd and Carrell for salaries because "believe me, I'm not taking a pay-cut. No way!"

Hhhhmmmmm, what crisis can our "Anchorman" folks face? And most importantly, what 1980s pop culture icons should they desecrate? :happy

Wolverine and James Bond Team Up on Broadway!

Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig are pairing up for Broadway! That's right, Wolverine and James Bond on stage!

The New York Post is reporting that the pair will star in "A Steady Rain," a play about two Chicago cops whose bond is tested after an investigation of a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.

Jackman's stage prowess has already been tested (he won a 2004 Tony Award for "A Boy From Oz"), but this will be the first-ever Broadway appearance for Craig.

The producer of the play? Barbara Broccoli, Craig's boss in the James Bond movie franchise.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" the Movie! But Wait, Creator Joss Whedon is NOT Involved!

I'm a BIG "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan. I even wrote a dissertation paper on the subject during Grad school. And if you happen to tour my house, you'll see Limited Edition "Buffy" collectibles from trading cards to statues to props!

Yes, I'm a HUGE fan.

So, the news about "Buffy the Vampire Slaer" remake or "relaunch" made me happy, and then...I heard that creator Joss Whedon is NOT a part of it!

Right now, there's no studio behind the project, no Whedon in sight, but the original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, are working with Vertigo Entertainment on what they call a relaunch NOT a sequel or a prequel.

I've always wondered why Kuzui's name is always on the credits for the TV show, because her Kuzui Enterprises have held onto the rights since the very beginning and will never, ever let go.

Kuzui is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because without her, we would have never seen the influential TV show (she brought the idea to 20th Century FOX and brought Whedon along). A curse, because, honestly, the original film wasn't that good (heck, the pilot for the TV show was 100% better), and now, they're going to mess up the universe or Buffy-verse that Whedon created.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

The new "Buffy" film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike. Vertigo and Kuzui are looking to restart the story line without trampling on the beloved existing universe created by Whedon, putting the parties in a similar situation faced by Paramount, J.J. Abrams and his crew when relaunching "Star Trek."

In every generation there could only be one slayer, hence, Kuzui and company will take liberty from that show's conceit. But, um, have they heard of Whedon's comic book character "Fray?" She is a slayer from the future that Kuzui can play with.

Yeah, I'm happy to see a "Buffy" movie, but I'm sad that the connections the heroine made will not be seen. Look, can you imagine "Star Trek" with just Captain Kirk on it? Of course not!

"Flight of the Navigator" Flies Again!

Walt Disney Pictures is getting ready to remake the sci-fi adventure flick "Flight of the Navigator."

I enjoyed the original 1986 film, at least watching it on VHS. The movie was considered a flop when it came out (it grossed only $17 million) but it found a cult following immediately upon its videocassette (remember those?) release.

The plot revolves around a boy who's abducted by an alien spacecraft 8 years prior. He reappears 8 years later, still the same age and with no memory of what happened to him.

Brad Copeland ("Wild Hogs") is attached to write the remake, and the original's executive producer, John Hyde, returns into the same role.

For now, while we wait for the remake, let's take a look at the trailer of the original "Flight of the Navigator."
