The production behind "Gulliver's Travels" is on its merry way going about their shoot! So our friend David told us that he visited Blenheim Palace in the UK for a birthday surprise, and he got an even bigger surprise!
He saw Blenheim Palace being used as a backdrop for "Gulliver's Travels."
And according to the Blenheim Palace website:
Blenheim Palace to be used as a film location for Gulliver's Travels Fox UK Productions Limited will be based at Blenheim Palace from Sunday 26 April 2009 until Sunday 17 May to film scenes for the forthcoming family comedy Gulliver's Travels, due for international release in the summer of 2010.
Each day will involve elements of set dressing, location filming or set clearance, and every effort will be made to ensure any disturbance to your visit is kept to a minimum.
We would like to apologise in advance for the inevitable disruption to your visit.
Please note: the Palace interiors will be closed on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May 2009, however, the Courtyards, the Water Terraces Cafe & Restaurant, the Formal Gardens, the Pleasure Gardens and the Park will all be fully open to visitors as normal.
Income from the location filming makes an important contribution to the ongoing restoration and conservation of Blenheim Palace - thank you in advance for your co-operation, your patience and understanding.

"The Road" was supposed to be part of the Oscar hopefuls released last year. But Weinstein Co. decided to push its release to escape the overcrowding of Oscar wannabes.
I'm so looking forward to seeing this film. Based on the book by Cormac McCarthy ("No Country for Old Men") is a post-apocalyptic flick about a man and his young son.
So when can you see "The Road?"
SAVE THE DATE -- OCTOBER 16!!!
Here's the full press release:
Dimension Films and 2929 Productions will release THE ROAD on October 16.
Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen, Academy Award winners Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Kodi Smit-McPhee star in the big-screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's best-selling, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Road – the story of a man (Mortensen) and his young son (Smit-McPhee) traveling through a desperate, post-apocalyptic world.
Joe Penhall (Based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy)

Check out those claws!
It's finally here! After months of waiting, the film being leaked online, and Hugh Jackman getting very upset, we all can now see "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" on the big screen!
And let me tell 'ya, it's worth the wait!
The action scenes are superb, even though the film falls short in the smarts department. Going back to Jackman, how did he fare against possible scene-stealer Liev Schreiber as his brother Victor aka Sabretooth?
Take a look at my review...

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" has been given a 15 classification by the Swedish Board of Film Censors because of its violent scenes.
15 classification means no one under the age of 15 will be allowed into theaters, EVEN with an adult!
According to Variety, Fox appealed the decision to Stockholm's Administrative Court of Appeal (Kammarratten) but on Thursday it backed the censors' ruling.
See, the U.S. frowns on sex, while Europeans shun violence! Ah, if we can just have a happy medium
Oh, and FYI, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is not that violent. The MPAA gave the film a PG-13 rating. But then, we're Americans...
