I Flew Up, Up, and Away for Disney/Pixar's Upcoming, Fantastic Adventure "UP"

I went to Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA for their upcoming flick "Up."

I love this film, and I will post my interviews with director Pete Docter, producer Jonas Rivera, Jordan Nagai (voice of Russell), and the talented Ed Asner (voice of Carl Fredericksen).

I will also post my review of "Up" very soon. Anyway, I just want to share with you some fun photos!

They strapped a sofa on a multitude of balloons, then they strap me, and let me fly, fly, fly! Yay!

I LOVED IT! I did all my segment stand-ups while I was up in the air! Take a look:

*** getting ready to fly

*** almost there

*** not afraid of heights at all

*** clutching the stuffed toy Dug while holding for my dear life :happy

And here's the video to the tune of Fifth Dimension's "Up, Up, and Away" :happy

When Will You Be Able to See Michael Moore's New Documentary?

As we told you last year, Michael Moore is working on a new documentary about the global economic meltdown.

Overture Films and Paramount Vantage, co-financers of the untitled film, noted that the release date is one year and one day after the U.S. Senate voted to approve a $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.

Moore asked Wall Street's help for his documentary on his website. He posted an email begging insiders to tell their stories.

Like many Moore's films, this one will be a comical look "at the corporate and political shenanigans" that the filmmaker is calling "the biggest robbery in the history of this country."

Whatever you think of Moore as a person, I adore him as a filmmaker. He's made some incendiary but thought-provoking films about the auto industry ("Roger & Me"), gun control ("Bowling for Columbine"), 911 ("Fahrenheit 911") and health care ("Sicko").

So I'll be lining up October 2nd!

"UFO" The Movie

The 1970s British sci-fi series "UFO" is being turned into a big-screen adventure!

Legendary producer Robert Evans ("Chinatown," "Marathon Man") unveiled his plans to adapt the show created by Gerry Anderson ("Thunderbirds").

The original series was set in 1980 and told the story of an undercover military organization which kidnapped and killed humans.

The big screen version will be set in 2020. No word yet on the script, director, cast, and production.

For now, take a look at the opening scene of the TV series "UFO."

"Star Wars" Voted Best Sci-Fi Film, But Which One's the Worst?

The original "Star Wars" film, aka "A New Hope" has been voted the best science fiction movie of all time at a new online poll.

George Lucas' sci-fi masterpiece starring Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, and Mark Hammill as Luke Skywalker topped the survey from Moviefone.

The worst sci-fi flick? "Battlefield Earth" starring John Travolta. I agree completely!

Here's the list of the Top 5 Best Sci-Fi films of all time:

1. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

2. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

3. Aliens

4. The Matrix (TIE)

4. Blade Runner (TIE)

5. The Terminator

"Terminator Salvation" Movie Review -- Is the Film a Good Addition to the "Terminator" Franchise?

I was prepared to hate “Terminator Salvation.” How can director McG top the stellar productions of the first two “Terminator” films by James Cameron? Besides, the third movie of the franchise was a forgettable mess.

The writers of the third “Terminator,” John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris, in an attempt to erase that movie from our memories, also wrote the fourth film. And now, Brancato and Ferris are forgiven. “Terminator Salvation” is a worthy addition to the franchise.

The best part of the film is its Western structure. “Terminator Salvation” borrows myths and conventions from good, old Western films in order to come up with a flawed but ultimately satisfying movie. Read More...
