"Green Lantern" Set Pic -- Check Out Ryan Reynolds and Puppy

I know it's a big mighty tease, but MTV released this picture, and now we're left wondering -- Reynolds' super-hero costume, the magnificent green glow, may all be CGI, right?

But a bigger question -- who's that puppy?

Shia LaBeouf Promises Better "Transformers 3," Throws "Revenge of the Fallen" Under the Bus

So Shia LaBeouf admits that "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" sucked, but promises the third installment will be better, and will bring the heart back to the franchise.

Of course, the actor is getting ready to work on the third "Transformers," and he's saying that the third will be the best one yet. Don't they all say that?

Speaking to the Associated Press at the Cannes Film Festival, LaBeouf said: "When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did...There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."

Here's more of the actor's soundbites:

On the second movie, "we got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger," LaBeouf said. "Mike (director Michael Bay) went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. ... You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

With "Transformers 3," the toll of the robot war will be grave for our planet, LaBeouf said.

"There's going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they're targeting humans," LaBeouf said. "It's going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed."

But see here's my problem. The third one will still be directed by Michael Bay, a helmer who can't find a beating heart in a movie even if his life depended on it.

Bay is a stylish, very visual director, and that's about it. As far as finding human emotions to his big, giant robot movies? Well, the first one came very close, I actually enjoyed that. So if Bay emulates the narrative mechanisms of the first "Transformers," maybe, just maybe, the third one will be bigger and better and will find the "sense of human consequences" that LaBeouf has been looking for.

Sam Worthington to Star as "Quatermain" with a Twist!

Remember "King Solomon's Mines?" It was originally an 1885 novel by H. Rider Haggard featuring the hero, Allan Quatermain. In the film versions, everyone from Stewart Granger to Richard Chamberlain had the opportunity to star as Quatermain. Now, Sam Worthington is attached to play the literary hero but this time, it's going to have a sci-fi twist.

Worthington will also make his debut as a producer for the DreamWorks project. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

DreamWorks’ version is set in a time in which humans have left Earth and sees Quatermain return to the planet from a sojourn in space, embarking on another “King Solomon’s Mines”-style adventure but on a planetwide scale. Mark Verheiden was the writer behind the first script when the project was revealed early last year.

So, much like his "Avatar" character, Worthington's Quatermain will explore yet again.
