My Raw, Unedited, Fun Interview with Melissa McCarthy! She Nearly Stole "Bridesmaids!"

Melissa McCarthy gave a memorable performance as Megan in the super-funny, super-sweet, instant classic "Bridesmaids." She stole the show much like how Zach Galifianakis stole "The Hangover."

And she's such a sweetheart! I truly admire her!

In this interview, we talked about:

HOW HER CHARACTER MEGAN NEARLY GOT SCRAPPED!

HOW WAS IT WORKING ON THE SET?

HOW SHE TRANSITIONED FROM DRAMA TO COMEDY.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR MELISSA MCCARTHY, THE LEADING LADY? MAYBE THE STANLEY CUP COMEDY SHE CO-WROTE WITH BRIDESMAID'S ANNIE MUMULO?

HAVE FUN! :happy

"Titanic's" Maiden Voyage to 3D! Oscar Winning Film Gets Re-released On April 6, 2012

I don't know about you but my heart goes on and on and on for James Cameron's 1997 masterpiece "Titanic!" So I'm very happy to report that Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, and Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment have announced that the Oscar-winning and mega-blockbuster hit "Titanic" will sail back into movie theaters on April 6, 2012 in glorious 3D!

The date is just four days shy of the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's maiden voyage. Aw...

Remember how beautiful "Avatar" was in 3D? I'm sure Cameron and his producing partner, Jon Landau, will make sure that "Titanic" will have a very successful 3D conversion.

I can't wait for this one! For now, take a look at the full press release:

HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 19, 2011) - Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment jointly announced today that James Cameron's "TITANIC" will be re-released worldwide on April 6, 2012.

The release, which marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail (April 10th), will present the film in 3D for the first time ever.

Written, directed and produced by Cameron, "TITANIC" is the second highest grossing movie of all time. It is one of only three films to have received a record 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director; and launched the careers of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

Called "A spectacular demonstration of what modern technology can contribute to dramatic storytelling" by Variety upon its release in 1997, the long in the works 3D conversion is being overseen by Cameron and his Lightstorm producing partner Jon Landau who produced the hit movie.

Said Cameron, "There's a whole generation that's never seen "TITANIC" as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be "TITANIC" as you've never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike."

"This new presentation of Paramount's top-grossing film is particularly special because 2012 is the 100th anniversary of our studio. Paramount has had the pleasure of introducing audiences to some of the all-time classics of cinema during that century of moviemaking and we cannot think of a better way to mark the occasion than with this re-release of "TITANIC"," said Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

Commented Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairmen and CEOs, Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman: "Our 30-plus year relationship with Jim Cameron and Lightstorm has been enormously rewarding, from "Aliens" to "Avatar", and the global phenomenon of "TITANIC" remains one of the greatest sources of pride in our history. We are pleased to allow a new generation of audiences to experience the film in its brilliant digital restoration in 3D."

Director Lars Von Trier, Self-Confessed Hitler Sympathizer, BANNED from Cannes!

So Lars Von Trier, the Danish director who gave us the fantastic "Breaking the Waves" and "Dancer in the Dark" among others, has been banned from the Cannes Film Festival! According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director has been officially declared as a persona non grata after Von Trier, ever controversial, "called himself a Nazi and expressed sympathy for Hitler at a press conference" for his movie "Melancholia," on Wednesday.

(Take a look at the video of the controversial press conference, and look at the faces of "Melancholia" stars Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg--they're shocked and disgusted too!)

Now apparently, Von Trier has already apologized for his remarks, blaming journalists, of course, but the Cannes Festival's board of directors were not very accepting. They voted to ban Von Trier from the Festival saying:

"The Festival de Cannes provides artists from around the world with an exceptional forum to present their works and defend freedom of expression and creation," the Festival said in a statement. "The board of directors profoundly regrets that this forum has been used by Lars von Trier to express comments that are unacceptable, intolerable, and contrary to the ideals of humanity and generosity that preside over the very existence of the festival. The Board of Directors firmly condemns these comments and declares Lars von Trier a persona non grata at the Festival de Cannes, with effect immediately."

"The board of directors profoundly regrets that this forum has been used by Lars von Trier to express comments that are unacceptable, intolerable, and contrary to the ideals of humanity and generosity that preside over the very existence of the festival."

We don't know if their decision is temporary or lifelong, but this is the first time in recent years that Cannes has banned a director.

Hhhmmmm, should we get one of the "Inglourious Basterds" to take care of him?
