Morgan Freeman, during a press tour for the fantastic "Now You See Me" with Michael Caine, apparently fell asleep while being interviewed by a Fox affiliate station in Seattle.
First, I hope this doesn't happen to me while I interview a star. I would take it like I'm so boring and horrible that I turned the celebrity lethargic. So far, in my interviews with Freeman, he hadn't fallen asleep. Check this out where the actor called me the "happiest man on Earth" for our "Born to Be Wild" interview. And this one for the fun "Dolphin Tale."
But the actor was just probably tired. So do you know how he responded to the sleeping controversy? He blamed it on Google Eyelids! HA!
Posting on his Facebook page, Freeman joked:
Regarding my recent interview, I wasn't actually sleeping. I'm a beta tester for Google Eyelids and I was merely taking the opportunity to update my Facebook page.
Catch me on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart at 11pm E/P.
And he even posted a fun picture with him giving the thumb up. See his picture below:
By the way, "Now You See Me" opens next Friday, May 31st. Here are my interviews for the movie done in New Orleans, Louisiana. Oh...don't worry, I didn't make them fall asleep (click on the links below):

In 2011 at the Cannes Film Festival, director Nicolas Winding Refn and his star, Ryan Gosling, received so much love for their darkly incandescent flick, "Drive." Refn even won the Best Director trophy for his brilliant film.
Fast forward to two years later, the director and muse return to South of France just to face a different response -- their new film, "Only God Forgives" received boos! Many critics were calling the film overindulgent. Peter Debruge from Variety even said, "I felt violated, shat upon, sedated, narcotized, appalled and bored stiff."
And Gosling's character (Julian) was not relatable according to many who had seen the film. To which, Refn, a Danish director, retorted during a press conference:
The idea of Julian's character was a man who was on some sort of journey but he did not know what he is going towards. We spoke about the character of the sleep walker, destined to move, who does not know where he going. He is bound and chained to his mother's womb. To release that he has to go through several levels of violence. Why doesn't he speak? Maybe because the language of silence is far more potent.
That sounds intriguing right?
Now, talking to Vulture, Refn defended his movie, saying "Only God Forgives" is a work of art. "How can I expect someone to not react like this when on one hand you are dropping what you do in everyone's face and at the same time saying, 'Love me, please,' you know?"
"You're going to get that. You know, great art -- horrible thing to say -- but art is meant to divide, because if it doesn't divide, it doesn't penetrate, and if it doesn't penetrate, you just consume it," Refn added.
Spoken like a true artist. Sure, a bit pretentious but I'm holding my opinion until I see the film in July.
But will the critics forgive him and his movie? Or, perhaps, like the title, only God can forgive Refn.

My station, KMIR (NBC) in Palm Springs, created a drive, in conjunction with the Red Cross, to help the victims of the Oklahoma tornadoes. I've been up since five in the morning to help! And it warms my heart to know that there are many people out there who are willing to help!
If you're from the Palm Springs area, please visit us at KMIR6 -- 72920 Park View Drive in Palm Desert -- and donate as little or as much as you can! We'll be here until 7 p.m. tonight!
And this girl is just fantastic (picture below)! She's Hannah from La Quinta, and she emptied her piggy bank to help. Awwww. I wish we could all be like Miss Hannah! What a terrific girl!

Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures have announced that Chinese actress, Li Bingbing ("Resident Evil: Retribution") has been cast in "Transformers 4." The actress joins Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Sophia Myles in the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline. Paramount Pictures will release the film on June 27th, 2014.
“I am excited to have Li Bingbing join our cast and to be shooting portions of the movie in her native China. I have always aspired to work with the best actors and this cast is especially exciting now with the addition of Li,” said Michael Bay.
In her native country of China, Li has many hits including the Tsui Hark-directed "Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame" and "1911." In America, Li has starred in "Resident Evil: Retribution," "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan," and "Forbidden Kingdom." She was recently named Variety's "Asian Star of the Year."
Here's the rest of the press release:
“I am thrilled to get to work with Michael Bay. ‘TRANSFORMERS’ has influenced generations in China and the movie franchise has a massive fan base. I am very happy to be able to join this international production. Thank you Paramount for the invitation! Looking forward to it!” said Li Bingbing.
Paramount, China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises announced this past April a Cooperation Agreement regarding the production of “TRANSFORMERS 4” in China. Under the agreement, China Movie Channel, under the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), will cooperate with Paramount in broad-based support of the production of the film in China. “TRANSFORMERS 4” is expected to be released in China on or about June 27, 2014. The parties also intend to cooperate in a number of other areas related to “TRANSFORMERS 4,” including the selection of filming sites within China, theatrical promotion, and possible post-production activities in China as well as casting of Chinese actors and actresses in the film.
This agreement represents the first time that China Movie Channel will work with a western studio in the production of a major motion picture.
“We are delighted to see Ms. Li Bingbing being selected for a major role in ‘TRANSFORMERS 4,’ a very successful global film franchise,” said Yan Xiaoming, Chairman of China Movie Channel. “Ms. Li is an excellent and famous Chinese actress with many fans in China. She has had many successful projects with China Movie Channel and M1905.com in the past. We wish her every success in ‘TRANSFORMERS 4’ and with the worldwide audience that will enjoy her great talent.”
Said Sid Ganis, Chairman of Jiaflix, “Li Bingbing is an enormously talented Chinese artist who is fast becoming a worldwide movie star and is a great addition to a stellar cast.”
Shooting this summer in multiple locations in the U.S. and China, the film is directed by Bay and re-unites the filmmaking team from the hit franchise, including producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce; and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. “TRANSFORMERS 4” is written by Ehren Kruger, based on Hasbro’s Transformers™ Action Figures.
The third, and most recent installment of the franchise, “TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON,” is the fifth highest global grossing film of all time with $1.124 billion dollars of worldwide box office success. The “TRANSFORMERS” movies are among the most popular films ever released in China, and Michael Bay is among the most popular directors with Chinese audiences. “TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON,” released theatrically in 2011, grossed $165 million in China and more than $1.1 billion worldwide.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is supposedly in talks to star in "Star Wars: Episode VII" according to our friends at Latino Review. Meyers could be the first actor to join the cast alongside, possibly, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. J.J. Abrams is directing the new "Star Wars" sequel, fresh from creating "Star Trek Into Darkness."
Meyers has worked with Abrams before in "Mission: Impossible III." And lest you doubt Latino Review, the site has a pretty good track record for breaking movie news, like how they revealed the real identity of the "Star Trek Into Darkness" villain, long before it was revealed.
