“GODZILLA” (2014) MOVIE REVIEW -- How Many Kisses Does the King of the Monsters Get?

We all agree that the horrible and utterly cartoonish 1998 “Godzilla” nearly decimated the franchise. So how does the new version stack up? Director Gareth Edwards (“Monsters”) pays homage to the original 1954 “Godzilla” and takes Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ken Watanabe along for the big monster ride. Is “Godzilla” worthy of the title The King of All Monsters and is he presented as a believable alpha predator in the movie? Find out in my movie review of “Godzilla.”

Bryan Cranston Interview for “GODZILLA” (2014)

We all love Bryan Cranston and we all love him as Walter White in “Breaking Bad.” But did you know that “Godzilla” director Gareth Edwards hired Cranston for his work in “Malcolm in the Middle” and not as White? Intriguing! And in “Godzilla,” I believe Cranston is the heart of the movie! Roar!

In this interview, we talked about:

*** How he got interested in his character and starring in the film?
*** How the new “Godzilla” pays homage to the original?
*** Working with director Gareth Edwards
*** His earliest memory of “Godzilla”

“GODZILLA” (2014) Interview with Elizabeth Olsen

I love Elizabeth Olsen! She surprised us with her star-making turn in 2011’s “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” and will soon be seen in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” But first, she is set to add credence to the big monster movie “Godzilla.” I sat down with the actress to talk about:

*** The character-driven nature of “Godzilla”
*** Her interest in making the movie
*** How director Gareth Edwards talked her into making the movie
*** The film’s core about family and small acts of heroism
*** “Godzilla” is Olsen’s first major summer blockbuster – how is she dealing with that?
*** Her early memories of “Godzilla”
