“GODZILLA” (2014) Interview with Director Gareth Edwards -- He Talks About “Godzilla” Deleted Scenes!

Gareth Edwards, the guy who gave us the fantastic “Monsters” in 2010, is perfect as the director of the king of all monsters “Godzilla.” He knows how to effectively blend the drama and the spectacle! I sat down with Edwards in New York during the “Godzilla” press junket and talked to him about:

*** His thoughts on the original 1954 “Godzilla”
*** He picked Bryan Cranston because of his work in “Malcolm in the Middle” and NOT “Breaking Bad”
*** Choosing Philippines as one of the location of the movie
*** A cool deleted scene of the movie!

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Movie Review -- Do We Need Another Spidey Movie? The Answer is Clear!

Another week, another superhero movie (I know, I’m feeling oversaturated all of a sudden – Captain America last month, the X-Men folks and Spidey this month, argh!) – this time, it’s the sequel to “The Amazing Spider-Man” from the collaboration of director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Sally Field returns as the touching Aunt May and joining the cast are Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin, and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. Yup, more villains! But is more always better? Check out my movie review of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

Official Plot:

We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It's great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But beingSpider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp. (c) Columbia

Can't Wait to See "Godzilla!"

The 1998 "Godzilla" movie underwhelmed me, no, make that irritated me, but yet, like most of you, I have a special place in my heart for the giant lizard. So, I'm really, really looking forward to seeing the new version of "Godzilla" opening nationwide on May 16th!

This one seems promising with director Gareth Edwards at the helm. He gave us the smart "Monsters" in 2010 (if you missed it, it's now available for rent), blending politics, emotions, and alien invasions -- a main ingredient for a great "Godzilla" movie.

And this weekend, I'll be watching "Godzilla" and interviewing the cast including Bryan Cranson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and the lovely Elizabeth Olsen. Oh, and I'll be talking to Edwards too!

I can't wait! I'll give you my full report soon, but for now, watch this exclusive "Godzilla" Asia trailer, hear him roar!
