Since Brett Ratner said no to directing the "Conan" reboot, Nu Image/Millenium Films hired Marcus Nispel to helm the film.
This will be the third reboot in Nispel's resume. The director was also in charge with relaunching "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Friday the 13th."
Production on the remake is set to start late this year in Bulgaria and South Africa.
The script is written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, the guys behind "Sahara" and "Cowboys and Aliens." Wait. "Sahara?" Wasn't there a big drama behind that production? And "Sahara" wasn't really a good movie.
So...hhmmmmm...I don't have big faith with this "Conan" production.
The future of this action-adventure about the most famous Barbarian in the world doesn't look bright!
But, Nispel seems to be ready to give his 100% for this film. Variety is reporting that the director wants to blend his childhood imaginings of the character with the influence of the famous Conan illustrations by Frank Frazetta, and the influence of such viscerally violent period films as Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto."
But the big question -- will the original Conan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, make an appearance?

Disneynature, whose "Earth" has made $31.4 million at the box-office, has picked up the rights to distribute "OceanWorld 3D."
The film is being billed as the first feature-length nature documentary shot and released entirely in 3-D! Cool!
Told from the point of view of a sea turtle, "OceanWorld 3D" guides audiences through Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Argentina's Peninsula Valdez, and Mexico's shark-infested Roca Partida Island.
Disneynature hasn't locked down a release date yet, but "OceanWorld 3D," which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, will be seen in France and Russia this August.
The film took seven years to produce, 25 locations, 200 hours of footage, and featured Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the underwater documentary icon Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

The comicbook "Deadworld" is set to become a zombie feature franchise.
Dark Hero Studios partners David Hayter and Benedict Carver will team up with "Coraline's" Bill Mechanic for this undead project.
"Watchmen's" Hayter will write the script.
"Deadworld" is about a post-apocalyptic world where the Dead overtake the Earth...where the humans are overrun by zombies.
(Check the official "Deadworld" comic site right here)
The comic book was highly regarded in the beginning by its fanbase for the cover art which featured gory depictions of the undead.
The production is being planned to begin next year.
"It's very much about the design of the Deadworld and creating cool, frightening but not necessarily gory creatures," Hayter tells Variety. "I am a huge fan of zombie mythology."

The multi-hyphenated actor/writer/director/producer Justin Theroux is set to direct "Chief Ron."
Based on the true story of Chief Ron Roberts, the comedy tells the tale of a conman who claims Mohegan ancestry in order to open a casino.
But his blonde hair and blue eyes are dead giveaway, yet Roberts prevailed in court and is currently building a casino in upstate New York!
(Read Ron Roberts' court case here)
This will be the first major studio directing job for Theroux who wrote the script for "Iron Man 2" and co-wrote and exec produced "Tropic Thunder."
Theroux made his directing debut with the indie "Dedication" that was shown at 2007 Sundance.
