What Do I Think of "Public Enemies?" In a Nutshell...

Saw a screening of "Public Enemies" last night at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. So what do I think of the film?

It's good not great! And I want it to be great! It's Depp! It's Bale! It's Michael Mann! But Marion Cotillard stole the show!

I will post my full review very soon, but if you can't wait, you can twitter me at http://twitter.com/mannymovies or email me at manny@mannythemovieguy.com.

An Angel Gets Her Wings! Farrah Fawcett Dies at 62

After a long battle with cancer, Farrah Fawcett died at the age of 62. Another one of my pop culture icons has passed away :sad

Although the actress never excelled in the movie industry, she was certainly a major TV star! She was my favorite angel in "Charlie's Angels" next to Kate Jackson's Sabrina! And she had shown some acting depth in various TV movies such as "The Burning Bed."

And yes, I had her famous poster on my wall!

For more on Miss Farrah's life, click here.

Here's a special look back at the life and times of Farrah Fawcett. Good bye Miss Farrah, and our heartfelt condolences to Ryan O'Neal and the rest of Fawcett's family :sad

"Watchmen" Fans Rejoice! The Much-Talked About Director's Cut to be Shown in Theaters! But There's a Catch!

Save the date! You'll be able to see Zack Snyder's "Watchmen" director's cut on July 17!

But here's the catch:

It's for one-week theatrical release only, and will just be shown in four venues namely Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and New York.

So if you're not from those cities, you're out of luck!

What's so great about the director's cut of "Watchmen?" Well, Snyder's cut has 25 ADDITIONAL MINUTES! I'm intrigued! Perhaps, this version will be a better cut than its original theatrical release.

The Controversial "Antichrist" Gets U.S. Release Date AND Video-On-Demand Launch!

If you're a fan of director Lars von Trier and adore his cinematic sensibilities, then get ready. IFC has announced their plans on the release dates of "Antichrist."

*** In Los Angeles and New York, "Antichrist" will be shown in theaters Oct. 23

*** "Antichrist" will also be available on video-on-demand Oct. 21 (Have I told you I love this feature? Watching new IFC releases on demand?

Charlotte Gainsbourg, who stars as She in the film, won the Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Award for her performance in this psychological erotic-horror tale.

So Gainsbourg alone is a big reason to watch this haunting film.

But the big question -- will "Antichrist" be shown in the US uncut similar to its censor-free debut in Britain?

Gosh, I hope so!
