Do You Have Any Joaquin Phoenix Video? Casey Affleck Wants You!

So I reviewed and actually liked Joaquin Phoenix's supposed last film, "Two Lovers" starring Gwyneth Paltrow and directed by James Gray ("We Own the Night," "The Yards"). (Take a look at my review right here)

So my video has been languishing for a while, until I received an email from joaqdoc.com, yes, the folks behind the documentary about the actor (or is it rapper?) directed by Casey Affleck (check out their IMDB page right here). Apparently, the Joaq Doc team is interested in possibly using my vid for their documentary. HA! Here's part of the email:

Hey Manny,

We saw your Joaquin Phoenix video reviewing Two Lovers and were wondering if you'd be interested in us possibly using it in the upcoming documentary about Joaquin Phoenix's transition from actor to rapper.

So it's kind of interesting, more like a social experiment. So I said yes, go for it, and now, lovely viewers, if you have any Joaquin live performance or parody, spoof, go to joaqdoc.com and upload your .mov files! Click on the image below and it'll take you to their site. I can't wait for this documentary to see what the heck is going on with one of the most gifted actors in contemporary cinema.

DreamWorks Animation Reveals Super-secret Ghost Project!

Last May, DreamWorks Animation CEO, Jeffrey Katzenberg, said a "supersecret ghost project" was in the works for a possible 2012 opening.

Well, it can now be revealed, that super-secret ghost project is known, at least internally, as "Boo U." "The Simpsons Movie" writer, Jon Vitti, is going to pen the screenplay which The Hollywood Reporter is saying "centers on a ghost who is bad at his job and must return to ghost school."

Hence, "Boo U."

DreamWorks Animation is loving ghost-themed animated flicks right now. First, they announced that "Freakers" was in the works. But now, that project is dead. However, there's another ghost-related flick, besides "Boo U," that is currently in the pitch stage. So stay tuned...

Trailer-rama! See 2 New Movie Trailers for "Zombieland" and "2012" Both Starring Woody Harrelson

First stop, "Zombieland" starring Woody Harrelson as a zombie slayer named Tallahassee (it used to be Albuquerque when Columbia Pictures first announced the production last year.)

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, "Zombieland" looks like fun judging from the trailer. It reminds me of "Shaun of the Dead" -- mixing comedy and the undead!

Take a look at the trailer below. "Zombieland" opens nationwide Oct. 9, 2009.

Next stop, "2012."

This time, Mister Woody co-stars alongside John Cusack and Thandie Newton. You may have heard of the premise. Death and destruction await us in 2012, and the movie is an epic adventure about that global cataclysm and the survivors.

Hhhhm, intriguing premise, but Roland Emmerich ("Godzilla," "10,000 B.C") doesn't have a good track record, so let's wait and see.

At least the trailer looks fun :happy

Oh yeah, "2012" arrives in theaters Nov. 13, 2009, just in case we're all doomed in 2012, at least we've seen the movie beforehand.

The Impossible is Now Possible! "Mission: Impossible IV" is Coming Soon!

Tom Cruise and Paramount are now friends again, hence, "Mission: Impossible IV" is in the works! If you remember, the actor left the studio in 2006 when Viacom chief Sumner Redstone ended their 14-year-old tie with Cruise.

But now, Redstone is even heard saying Cruise is "a great actor and a good friend." So drama ended, "Mission: Impossible IV" is in full speed ahead.

Cruise and J.J. Abrams have both agreed to co-produce the flick, which is currently being targeted for a 2011 release.

But first, Abrams must work on a "Star Trek" sequel, while Cruise will be busy shooting his romantic action comedy flick with Cameron Diaz to be directed by James Mangold.

"The Proposal" Movie Review -- How Many Kisses Does Sandra Bullock Get?

In “The Proposal,” Sandra Bullock returns to the genre that she does best – romantic comedy. But the actress politely corrected me when I interviewed her for “The Proposal.” She said the film is not a romantic comedy, “just a comedy period.”

Bullock says, “It drives me insane when movies are called romantic comedies when most of them are neither romantic nor funny. ‘The Proposal’ is a funny comedy.” She’s absolutely right about that last statement. The film is very funny indeed.

Directed by ex-choreographer Anne Fletcher, “The Proposal” has an infectious rhythm that will keep your interest all the way up to the predictable ending. Sure, the film is formulaic but at least the filmmakers have the winning formula down pat. The movie made me giggle like a blushing bride. Read More...
