Watch Teaser Trailer for "The Last Airbender" by M. Night Shyamalan

I pretty much gave up on M. Night Shyamalan after his last two crappy films, "Lady in the Water" and "The Happening."

But I'm pleased to report that the teaser trailer for "The Last Airbender" is actually interesting. But then again, the trailer for "The Happening" was great too...until I saw the film.

We can at least hope that "Slumdog Millionaire's" Dev Patel will spread his magic to "The Last Airbender."

We have to wait until July 2 of next year before we can watch the film, so enjoy the teaser trailer for now.

Janet Jackson Returns to "Why Did I Get Married" Role!

Janet Jackson will return to the loving arms of writer-director-actor-producer Tyler Perry for the comedy sequel to 2007's "Why Did I Get Married?"

This time, it's going to be called "Why Did I Get Married Too." Clever?

Miss Janet will again play the role of Patricia, a successful author and psychologist who loves analyzing other people's relationship but refuses to look into her own marriage.

"Why Did I Get Married Too" is set for release on April 2, 2010.

More Changes Ahead for the Oscars! This Time, Best Original Song!

Besides the 10 Best Picture nominees rule for 2010 Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled new changes for the Music - Original Song category.

I still think it's a crime that Bruce Springsteen's haunting theme song for "The Wrestler" wasn't even nominated.

So, the Academy is changing the way they vote for the category. According to their site:

In the original song category, the governors approved the Music Branch Executive Committee recommendation that if no song achieves a minimum average score of 8.25 in the nominations voting, there be no nominees and thus no Oscar presented for the category.

If only one song achieves the required minimum, it and the song with the next highest score will be deemed the nominees. If two or more songs achieve the minimum score, they will be the nominees though no more than five nominees can be selected.

Previously, the rules dictated that there be no more than five but no fewer than three nominees in the category.

Other changes include the Testimonial Awards namely the Irving G. Thalberg Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and the Honorary Award will now be presented at an event in November of this year.

Hhhhmmm, to give more time talking about the 10 Best Picture nominees perhaps?

Important Dates:

Academy Award nominations -- February 2, 2010

Academy Award telecast -- March 7, 2010

As a great counter-programming to those loud, huge, monstrous robots in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "My Sister's Keeper" does the trick!

Michael Jackson Dies at 50

We are following breaking news right now out of Los Angeles. Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50.

This afternoon - the pop star was taken by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles suffering from cardiac arrest. Jackson was not breathing when he was taken from a home he is renting in the Holmby Hills area to the hospital.

I'm just sad. Another one of my childhood pop icons passed away :sad

You'll be missed Michael!
