Jennifer Garner, Nick Nolte to Join "Arthur" Remake?

Jennifer Garner and Nick Nolte may soon join Russell Brand and Helen Mirren for the Warner Bros' remake of "Arthur," the 1981 comedy starring Dudley Moore, Liza Minnelli, and Sir John Gielgud.

Jason Winer is directing the remake which follows the plot of the original. Brand is set to star as the title character, a rich, happy drunk who is forced by his mother to marry an equally-rich girl or lose his inheritance. "Greenberg's" Greta Gerwig will star as a poor girl who steals Arthur's heart.

Garner is in talks to star as an heiress whom Brand must marry, while Nolte is negotiating to play her deeply religious father.

Production is set to begin shooting in New York in July.

Check Out Disney's "Tangled" Teaser, If You Dare!

From "Unbraided" to "Tangled," this is the Disney version of the "Rapunzel" fairy tale. Well, the studio just released the teaser trailer for the film, and in a word -- underwhelming!

I thought Disney is on its way to going back to cool old school animation via last year's "Princess and the Frog." But upon checking out "Tangled" teaser (below), I was a bit....disappointed.

The film feels cheesy and cold, and very direct-to-DVD amateur hour! Which was, yes, a disappointment especially hearing that the animators supposedly invented new technology to make the CGI images look like they were hand-drawn. No, they all look lifeless, dead...

"Tangled" features voice work from Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Ron Pearlman and is supposed to open November 24th of this year. Let's hope and pray that the great John Lasseter will realize their prized "Tangled" looks fangled!

Here's more "Tangled" info from Yahoo:

When the kingdom's most wanted -- and most charming -- bandit Flynn Rider hides out in a mysterious tower, he's taken hostage by Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn's curious captor, who's looking for her ticket out of the tower where she's been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs.

Also Known As: Rapunzel
Production Status: In Production/Awaiting Release
Logline: A long-hired princess who has spent her entire life in a tower has to venture outside to find the man she loves.
Genres: Action/Adventure, Kids/Family, Musical/Performing Arts, Animation and Adaptation
Release Date: November 24th, 2010
Distributors: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Studios: Walt Disney Animation Studios
Produced in: United States

Cast and Credits

It's Official! Paramount Announces “UNTITLED Les Grossman Project”

Yesterday, we told you that E! caught up with Tom Cruise at the MTV Movie Awards and he was hoping for a movie project revolving around his adorably snarky studio executive character, Les Grossman.

Well, it's now official! Paramount Pictures and MTV Films have announced that they are set to develop a movie around the Grossman character, first seen in "Tropic Thunder."

This announcement was made right after Grossman's scene-stealing shenanigans at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Sunday night. Tom Cruise, along with Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld of Red Hour Films will produce and have secured the life rights to Grossman.

Cruise is in talks to play the character and Michael Bacall (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) will write the script.

True to the spoof nature of the character, the rest of the press release from Paramount made it seem like Grossman was a real person, having mentored "Twilight" actors like Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner! Yeah, take that Jerry Bruckheimer!

Read on, and laugh, it's oddly compelling:

Grossman, best known as a mega producer, has most recently mentored talents such as Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. In 2008, Grossman was introduced to the masses by Stiller in the comedy “Tropic Thunder” where the famed producer had a cameo playing himself.

Said Ben Stiller: “Les Grossman's life story is an inspiring tale of the classic human struggle to achieve greatness against all odds. He has assured me he plans to quote, ‘F**king kill the sh*t out of this movie and make Citizen f**king Kane look like a piece of crap home movie by the time we are done.’ I am honored to be working with him.”

When asked what the screenplay was about Grossman responded: “To quote my great friend Kirk Lazarus, ‘I don’t read the script, the script reads me.’”

Adam Goodman, Paramount Film Group President said, "Everything I learned in this business, I've learned from Les. I started out as his assistant, and from the first day he threw his desk at me when I got his lunch order wrong, I have loved him like a father. I am forever grateful to Ben and Stuart Cornfeld and their ability to secure his highly-coveted life rights."

"The A-Team" Movie Review! I Love It When A Film Comes Together!

I was not looking forward to seeing the big screen version of “The A-Team.” The original TV show from the ‘80s, while not a great work of art, was an amusing snapshot of its era and must be left alone. So to my surprise, I found the movie entertaining and enjoyable.

Credit goes to the main cast. Liam Neeson (“Taken”), showing his great sense of humor, stars as the master planner and leader of the pack named Hannibal Smith. Bradley Cooper (“The Hangover”) also shines as Templeton “Face” Peck, who can procure anything for the Team’s daring missions. Read More...
