When you interview people via satellite, sometimes it’s hard to find an emotional or mental connection. But not Miss Jada! Her sweetness came out live and clear and I had a great time interviewing the mom, the wife, the actress, and the rock star who’s back as the glorious Gloria for “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” co-starring with Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, Chris Rock, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Cedric the Entertainer.
In this interview, we talked about:
*** Why she wanted to return for the third installment
*** Do her kids Jaden and Willow like the franchise?
*** It’s interesting to note that “Madagascar 3” came out two weeks after Will Smith’s “Men in Black 3”
*** How does she balance her multi-tasking life?
*** What does she want the kids to take away from “Madagascar 3?”

I first met director Adam Shankman for Vin Diesel's "The Pacifier." Remember that opus? So when I met Shankman for "Rock of Ages" I told him, he popped my press junket cherry! HA! Kidding aside, Shankman has been the go-to guy for musical adaptations. He was successful in mounting a big-screen version of "Hairspray," and now, he wants to rock us out with "Rock of Ages."
In this interview, we talked about:
*** What got him interested in making "Rock of Ages"
*** How he corralled Tom Cruise into joining the cast
*** How he made Cruise sing and dance in the role of Stacee Jaxx
*** Cruise's performance ala Iggy Pop meets Axl Rose
*** How his dancing background help him with his directing skills
*** His inner heart desires -- he fell in love!

Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta find their inner rockers to star as the young lovers in the new musical “Rock of Ages.” From “Hairspray” director, Adam Shankman, and based on the hit Broadway show, “Rock of Ages” will give you nothing but a good time!
Julianne stars as Sherrie and Diego is Drew, she’s a waitress, he’s a busboy in the thinly-veiled Whiskey A Go Go named The Bourbon Room in the movie. She wants to be famous, he wants to be a rock star, but deep inside, he’s been waiting for a girl like Sherrie. Cue music…
In this interview, we talked about:
*** What attracted them to explore “Rock of Ages”
*** The music of the movie
*** Diego’s audition
*** How they found their inner rock stars
*** Going to Rock Star College
*** Difference between singing Rock and Country or Pop
*** Their ultimate heart desires
