The legendary Karl Malden, the Oscar-winning character actor died of natural causes at his home in Brentwood, Calif. He was 97.
He was an incredible character actor who excelled at playing Everyman roles in movies such as "On the Waterfront" and "A Streetcar Named Desire" where he won an Oscar for Best Supporting actor.
Malden also teamed-up with Michael Douglas in the popular TV show, "The Streets of San Francisco."
He lived a long, fruitful life, and certainly left an mark in Hollywood. (For an in-depth look at Malden's life, click here).
Here's a special look back at Malden's life and times:

I love "Let the Right One In." It's one of my favorite films of 2008! (Take a look at my Top 10 Best Films of 2008)
So, I felt a mix of contempt and desperation when I heard that the Swedish vampire drama is being remade! By the guy who gave us "Cloverfield!"
All together now...NOOOOOOOO!
But the LA Times is reporting, Matt Reeves of the "Cloverfield" fame is working on the remake.
Here's an excerpt from the LA Times article:
"I was just hooked," Reeves recalled recently. "I was so taken with the story and I had a very personal reaction. It reminded me a lot of my childhood, with the metaphor that the hard times of your pre-adolescent, early adolescent moment, that painful experience is a horror."
So here's what you need to know:
1) Reeves is writing and directing the remake based on the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist
2) It's now going to be called "Let Me In"
3) The setting will be in Colorado during the Reagan administration (yes, Colorado to capture the chilly mood of the original film)
4) The remake comes out in Fall of 2010
My only hope for this film is that Reeves maintains the tone and spirit of the original film. Let's not "Hollywood-ize" the remake with a Point A to Point B narrative. One of the greatest aspects of the Swedish film is its haunting narrative, all the way to the "crate-tapping" ending!
So, let's have Reeves say the last words:
"There's definitely people who have a real bull's-eye on the film," Reeves said, "and I can understand because of people's' love of the [original] film that there's this cynicism that I'll come in and trash it, when in fact I have nothing but respect for the film. I'm so drawn to it for personal and not mercenary reasons, my feeling about it is if I didn't feel a personal connection and feel it could be its own film, I wouldn't be doing it. I hope people give us a chance."

That Seth Rogen is one busy dude! Now, our friends at hitflix.com are saying there's a road comedy being planned to star Rogen and Barbra Streisand!
Now for those folks doubting Streisand's talent for comedy, look no further than "Meet the Fockers" or any of her old Peter Bogdanovich flicks. Streisand has great timing!
So the film that the two are supposed to be in talks for is called "Mother's Curse" and it has a strong possibility of getting made.
Hitflix is saying:
I know that they're still working on the script to this one, and there may be more rewrites ahead in the near future. When I asked Seth about the film, he referred to it as "one of the many projects I may or may not do in the next fifteen years," which is a fair description. So keep in mind... I'm not saying this will or won't happen... just that it could. This is one of the pet projects of Adam Goodman, the Dreamworks executive who just made the jump to Paramount as the new head of production, so I would expect that if this gets made, it'll get made as a Dreamworks/Paramount co-production at this point.
