Vanessa Hudgens to Play Foul-Mouthed Hooker in "Sucker Punch"

Ah, these kids grow up fast!

Teen idol Vanessa Hudgens is getting ready to star as a potty-mouth prostitute in director Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch."

This is actually an interesting production from "300" and "Watchmen" director Snyder.

It's billed as Alice in Wonderland with machine guns, and the plot according to IMDB revolves around "a young girl who is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility."

Hudgens tells WENN, "I'm playing a character named Blondie and it's set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there's not a whole lot of clothes."

NOT A WHOLE LOT OF CLOTHES! GABRIELLA MONTEZ IS NAKED!

As far as the training? "It'll be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can't wait. I'm so excited. I've wanted to do an action film for a while.

Hudgens continues, "I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that's the biggest difference."

Alice in Wonderland with machine guns? Bring it on!

Do We Want Another Film Based On a Toy? Get Ready for "Max Steel" the Movie!

The "Transformers" franchise is a big success, and now, Paramount Pictures, weeks before unleashing "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra," is teaming with executive producer Joe Roth to give us "Max Steel" another action figure-based film!

Mattel introduced the toy line in 1999 and then an animated series from 2000-2002. But "Max Steel" became more popular in Latin America where it proved to be the No. 1 action figure!

The mythology behind the toy revolves around a 19-year old extreme sports junkie who's infected with nanobots. The mysterious infection turns Max Steel into a superhuman.

Now, Variety is reporting that Mattel, together with Roth, are looking for screenwriter and director (translation: slaves) to develop the characters and storyline "to match the company's plans for the franchise."

So much for creativity...

"Bruno" Sashays On Top of Box Office

"Bruno" emerged as the top box-office winner this past weekend. Sacha Baron Cohen's gay fashionista from Austria beat prehistoric animals and giant robots and landed the No. 1 spot with $30.4 million.

But many Hollywood insiders are doubting "Bruno's" staying power since the film, which opened huge Friday (taking in $14.4 million) had a big drop the rest of the weekend. Saturday, "Bruno" fell with just $8.8 million and an estimated $7.2 million Sunday.

Typically, word of mouth help generate a film's success on Saturday and Sunday, but in "Bruno's" case, curiosity probably drove moviegoers to watch it Friday, and then cautiously told their friends to avoid it on Saturday and Sunday.

Cohen's previous film, "Borat," started with $9.2 million Friday, then climbed to $10.1 million Saturday, suggesting that moviegoers were telling their pals to watch the film.

"Borat" eventually became a $100 million box-office smash. Many are wondering if "Bruno" can equal that success.

Meanwhile, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" took the No. 2 spot with $28.5 million, raising its domestic total to $120.6 million.

At No. 3 is the box-office sensation "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" with $24.2 million. So far, the sequel has raised its domestic total to $339.2 million, surpassing the original's $319 million box-office total.

And the weekend's other new release, 20th Century Fox's romantic comedy "I Love You, Beth Cooper" opened poorly with $5 million to debut at No. 7. Moviegoers did not show the love to Beth Cooper.

Here's the Top 10 Box Office list for the weekend of July 10th:

1. "Bruno," $30.4 million.

2. "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," $28.5 million.

3. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," $24.2 million.

4. "Public Enemies," $14.1 million.

5. "The Proposal," $10.5 million.

6. "The Hangover," $9.9 million.

7. "I Love You, Beth Cooper," $5 million.

8. "Up," $4.7 million.

9. "My Sister's Keeper," $4.2 million.

10. "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," $1.6 million.
