Get Ready for "Space Invaders" the Movie!

As we told you back in March of 2010, reports were swirling that "Space Invaders," an early 80s relic, is coming to theaters near you.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the top arcade game of all time by Guinness World Records is indeed heading to the big screen, with help from "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. He's teaming up with Odd Lot Entertainment's Gigi Pritzker to see this project into fruition.

Both are now looking for a writer to come up with a story. Hmmmm, there are no characters nor mythology surrounding "Space Invaders" so this could be a tough one. I guess they could go on the "Tron" route and create new mythos within the "Space Invaders" world. Each of those laser death firing aliens could be characters right?

Incidentally, di Bonaventura is also mining other 80s icons such as the video game (yes, another video game!) "Asteroids" and a remake of 1989's "Pet Sematary."

Which provoked me to say, "Dear Mr. di Bonaventura, can you please be more original? Please?" :wink

"Limitless" Director to Discover "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune?"

After directing Bradley Cooper in the blockbuster "Limitless," Neil Burger is reportedly in final talks to direct the adaptation of the video game "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Burger will also write the script of the action-adventure flick for Columbia Pictures.

Previously, "The Fighter's" David O. Russell was attached to direct but he abruptly exited the project citing creative differences. Apparently, the director wrote a 200-page draft with new characters that have never even appeared in the video game.

Creative differences indeed!

But a quick note to Burger: after directing this surefire blockbuster video game adaptation, can you please return to the indie world where you once showcased movies like the gripping "The Illusionist?" Please?

"Horrible Bosses" Movie Review! How Many Kisses Do Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, and Jason Sudeikis Get?

My review of "Horrible Bosses" starring Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, and Jason Bateman with Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrel, Kevin Spacey, and Jamie Foxx.

I was horribly surprised by the movie! Find out why below.

Here's more info on "Horrible Bosses" from Yahoo:

For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.

Did Michael Bay Plagiarize Himself?

Thanks to our friends at Autoblog, it seems that Michael Bay copied his own "The Island" for his latest hit, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

The editing is suspiciously similar, don't you think?
