"Captain America: The First Avenger" Movie Review! How Many Kisses Does Chris Evans Get?

In March of 1941, eight months prior to the U.S. entry into WWII, Captain America made his first Marvel appearance in an iconic comic book cover image where he was seen punching Adolf Hitler square in the jaw.

That political stance by creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby was seen by many as a propaganda piece beckoning the U.S. to enter the war. Decades later, as the super hero celebrates his 70th birthday, Marvel Studios releases the origin story of “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

The film captures the patriotic spirit of America circa 1940s. And it’s quite refreshing to see a blockbuster that is a period piece complete with a jingoistic attitude. The action-adventure subscribes to the simplistic notion that says “Nazis are evil, Americans are good.” Its simplicity is what saves this flawed but entertaining feature. Read More...

"Dark Knight Rises" Teaser Trailer Leaked Online!

It's mostly shots from the last two "Batman" films, but it's still intriguing. Lots of Gary Oldman hospital drama, a little Bane (Tom Hardy) shot here and there, but nary a Catwoman (Anne Hathaway)! Here's the trailer by way of Vulture:

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" Casts Magical Box-Office Spell Worldwide!

The final film of the "Harry Potter" franchise shattered box-office records easily landing on top with $168.55 million opening! ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" movie review)

How many records did the last "Harry Potter" installment break? Let me count the ways:

1) Biggest opening weekend of all time beating previous record-holder, "The Dark Knight" (also from Warner Bros.) which made $158.4 million in its first weekend

2) Biggest opening day of all time with its $92.1 million one-day take on Friday

3) Biggest midnight box-office opening when it opened Thursday with $43.5 million

But wait, there's more! The final chapter also has the biggest IMAX opening both domestic and worldwide, and "Harry Potter" beat "Harry Potter" in international box office. Previous crown holder, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" bowed down to "Deathly Hallows Part 2" which earned a smashing $476 million box-office debut!

(Fun "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" giveaway right here)

Previous weekend's box-office champ, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" slipped to No. 2 with $21.25 million. So far, the third "Transformers" movie featuring Shia LaBeouf has pushed its total past the $300 million mark. At No. 3 is the funny "Horrible Bosses" collecting $17.6 million.

Having a bad weekend was "Winnie the Pooh." The Disney hand-drawn animated tale only earned $8 million debuting at No. 6. Oh pooh :sad

Meanwhile, Woody Allen is enjoying the popularity of "Midnight in Paris." It's now officially his highest-grossing movie ever!

Here's the Top 10 box-office films for the weekend of July 15:
