Our heart goes out to them as well. :sad

I Love New "Superman: Man of Steel" Teaser Trailers, Both Pa Kent and Jor-El Versions!

Well, they're both the same visually, but the teaser trailers that premiered before the screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" have two versions, one is narrated by Jonathan Kent aka Pa Kent (Kevin Costner), and the other features words spoken by Jor-El (Russell Crowe). Both imparts the wisdom of being a hero to Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill). Much like producer Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Trilogy," this Zack Snyder-directed ("Watchmen," "300," "Sucker Punch") version of Superman seems to explore the true meaning of being a superhero to mankind.

Both versions of the teaser trailer use the same visuals -- Clark working on a fishing boat, and then we see him as a little boy wearing a red cape...fade to black...and then, here comes Superman skyrocketing towards the sky! Fantastic!

Here's the Russell Crowe as Jor-El version (via MSN):

"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards...They'll rise behind you. They will stumble. They will fall. In time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

And here's the Kevin Costner as Pa Kent version (via Yahoo):

"You're not just anyone...One day, you're going to have to make a choice. You'll have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is going to change the world."

I can't wait for June 14 of next year, when "Man of Steel" opens! Joining Cavill is Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

Christopher Nolan, Warner Bros. Release Statements About Colorado Shooting

Christopher Nolan has issued a statement regarding the shooting tragedy in Colorado involving his film "The Dark Knight Rises." Here's what he said:

"Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of The Dark Knight Rises, I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community."

"I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime."

"The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me."

"Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families."

24-year old former medical student, James Holmes (pictured below) was the alleged gunman according to police report. The attack killed 12 moviegoers, 59 were injured, and a total of 71 were shot. Holmes is now in police custody.

This is what Warner Bros. said about the shooting:

"Warner Bros. and the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."

President Obama offered a touching note to the victims, and questioned the senseless violence:

"Now, even as we learn how this happened and who's responsible, we may never understand what leads anybody to terrorize their fellow human beings like this. Such violence, such evil is senseless. It's beyond reason. But while we will never know fully what causes somebody to take the life of another, we do know what makes life worth living. The people we lost in Aurora loved and they were loved."

Our hearts go out to the families of the victims :sad

Fandango: "The Dark Knight Rises" Outpacing "The Avengers"

Batman has risen! Fandango is reporting that the third and final chapter of the masked avenger saga, "The Dark Knight Rises," is outpacing Marvel's "The Avengers" in advance ticket sales. Furthermore, the Christopher Nolan-directed flick is on track to "become one of Fandango's top-selling movies of all time!"

And rightfully so. I will post my "Dark Knight Rises" review in a little bit, but this I can tell you, it's a fitting ending to the Batman trilogy we know and love. Christian Bale is amazing, Anne Hathaway is breathtaking, and Tom Hardy is menacing. Oh yeah, Michael Caine made me cry!

I saw the film twice, and it gets better and better, just like any great Nolan movies.

And while Marvel's "The Avengers" just wants to have fun with the superhero genre, "The Dark Knight Rises" is the thinking man's comic book flick! So I'm very happy that it's outpacing "The Avengers."

Here's the full report from Fandango:
