This report from Variety about the opening box-office weekend last Friday said:
Universal's "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" bowed to an estimated $15.3 million on Friday, putting it ahead of the estimated $12.6 million earned by Warner Bros.' "The Dark Knight."
Playing in 3,759 locales, "Dragon Emperor's" haul marks the second highest opening day for the "Mummy" franchise behind 2001's "The Mummy Returns" which posted $23.4 million in its first day and $68.1 million over three-days.
But guess what? "The Dark Knight" bounced back and continued to be the top film for the 3rd weekend in a row. Our caped crusader opened with $43.8 million versus "The Mummy's" $42.5 million take.

We found out who's going to play Alice in Tim Burton's "Wonderland," now, we heard that Johnny Depp is set to play the Mad Hatter in his director pal's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland."
This is going to be their 7th collaboration together.
