"Bourne 4" Gets New Writer

Universal Pictures has signed Joshua Zetumer to write the fourth installment of the "Bourne" film series. However, the studio also wants "The Bourne Ultimatum" writer, George Nolfi, to return to the franchise and write his own version of the script.

It is a practice known in Hollywood as "parallel script." Having multiple scribes write different scripts for one movie, then combine all the ideas. It's a rare practice but was used in films like "Star Trek Generations," "Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer," and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

What do those films have in common? They're not great films; hence, the parallel script theory does not work!

Nolfi, who initially worked on the fourth "Bourne" film, had to leave the series to write and direct "The Adjustment Bureau," an adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story that will reteam him with "Bourne" star Matt Damon.

"The Adjustment Bureau" will begin filming in September, so Nolfi had to bow out of "Bourne." But Universal wanted "Bourne" to be a part of its 2011 slate that they scrambled to hire Zetumer to write a new script.

Zetumer is creating buzz around Hollywood for writing "Dune" for Pete Berg. He also wrote "The Infiltrator," a Warner Bros. film that has Leonardo DiCaprio attached. Zetumer is an untested talent, but apparently, his "Dune" script is phenomenal!

New Official Trailer of "Capitalism: A Love Story" by Michael Moore

Say what you want about Michael Moore, but his documentaries have always been entertaining, informative, and the message stays with you long after the film has left the theaters.

"Sicko" is much more timely now with the health care reform debate, and with "Capitalism: A Love Story," the documentarian sets his sights on well, America's romance with capitalism that yielded the global economic crisis.

"Capitalism: A Love Story" is from Overture Films and will be released nationwide Oct. 2nd. I can't wait!

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" Trailer! It's Very Jacob-Centric!

The new trailer for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" has arrived! This trailer was shown by Summit Entertainment specially for "Bandslam."

The preview has more Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and less Edward (Robert Pattinson). And it shows a subplot about Bella learning to drive a motorcycle.

Here's the plot summary from Summit:

In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.

"Twilight's" Catherine Hardwicke Wants New Spin on "Red Riding Hood"

Upon leaving the "Twilight" kingdom, director Catherine Hardwicke remains super busy!

She's developing a "Hamlet" film to star Emile Hirsch, "If I Stay" for Summit Entertainment, "Maximum Ride" and yes, "21 Jump Street," the big screen version, for Sony.

Now, the director has added another project! She just signed on to make "The Girl with the Red Riding Hood" for Appian Way.

This film sounds very close to the "Twilight" world -- there's a werewolf at the center of the film, with a teenage love triangle in the middle.

But of course, "The Girl with the Red Riding Hood" will be a gothic retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood story.
