He's a little scruffy, a little downtrodden, but that's just the way we like seeing Academy-Award winner Russell Crowe. He stars as Noah from Academy-Award nominated director Darren Aronofsky's "Noah." The "Black Swan" helmer is moving from dancing and entering the Biblical world of Noah's journey. Co-starring with Crowe are fellow Oscar winners Sir Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah and Jennifer Connelly as Naameh.
I'm excited to see this film! The only bummer is we have to wait 40 days and 40 nights to be able to see the movie, that translates roughly to about March of 2014.

Two big films are opening this weekend, we have "The Bourne Legacy" for action fans, and "The Campaign" for comedy lovers. In "The Bourne Legacy," steps in and fills the void that Matt Damon left behind as our new hero, Aaron Cross. And writer/director Tony Gilroy co-wrote and directed this fourth installment of the popular "Bourne" franchise. Did they succeed?
Meanwhile, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis face off in the raunchy R-rated comedy, "The Campaign." The brutal nature of American politics is twisted and turned for laughs in this farce directed by Jay Roach (the "Austin Powers" films, "Dinner for Schmucks").
So which one is my pick of the week? Take a look:

Last June, we told you that "Gangster Squad" writer, Will Beall, has been hired by Warner Bros. Pictures to write the script for a much-awaited (finally!) big screen version of "Justice League." (See Silver Lining for "Justice League" Fans)
Now, Variety is saying that the studio has approached Ben Affleck, yes THE Ben Affleck, to direct the feature film. The actor-turned-director has been getting much-deserved respect for helming fantastic films like "The Town" and "Gone Baby Gone." And so far, he's the only candidate who's seen Beall's script.
I, for one, am excited about this possible collaboration. Affleck is a good storyteller, gritty enough to bring edge to "Justice League" which features our favorite superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. No, I don't think the Wonder Twins will be in this version.
Affleck's upcoming movie, "Argo," is getting a lot of buzz, but here's the big question. Will the actor/director also star in "Justice League?" If so, which superhero will he play?
No word yet on when the film will be released, but, it could be as soon as summer of 2015, just in time to compete with the other movie with assembled superheroes, a little film called Marvel's "Avengers 2" from a little known director named Joss Whedon.

So "ALF" will soon visit theaters near you in a hybrid CG/live action feature form Heat Vision tells us. Sony Pictures Animation has acquired rights to the classic 1980s sitcom and hired Jordan Kerner to produce. Kerner gave us the big screen, CG/live action film of another 1980s staple, "The Smurfs."
"ALF" or Alien Life Form was a fun sitcom back in the 80s but will today's audiences be abducted by the planned film? Stay tuned. There's no writer or director attached yet.
For now, relive "ALF" by watching this small clip featuring the show's intro:

Not only will the fantastic Joss Whedon return to the world of "The Avengers" as writer/director, he will also develop a live action Marvel-themed TV show for ABC according to Disney chief Bob Iger during an earnings call with analysts.
It's not surprising that Disney is holding on to Whedon since "The Avengers" has earned nearly $1.5 billion worldwide! The film's U.S. box-office take of $616.8 million makes it the third highest-grossing film of all time after "Avatar" and "Titanic."
Variety is reporting that there were no other details regarding Whedon's Marvel TV show but ABC is also developing a reboot of "Incredible Hulk" the TV series. Remember the show with Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby? I grew up on that series next to "Wonder Woman" of course! Well, the reboot will star Guillermo del Toro. Perfect!
"Avengers 2" is likely to be released in 2015.
Honestly, are you feeling a little bit of Marvel overindulgence? With all these planned Marvel movies coming out, isn't it too much of a good thing? Whedon is a great storyteller, so I have faith that he can come up with a fantastic sequel -- but "Ant-Man?" Really?
