Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Interview for "Hit and Run!" They Held Hands, Awwwwww

So the last time I sat down with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, it was for "When in Rome." I can guarantee you that their new film "Hit and Run" is much, much better! Shepard wrote and co-directed the film (David Palmer was the other director), and his true-life fiancée, Kristen Bell, stars as his love interest. "Hit and Run" is a funny romantic car chase comedy, but above all, I enjoyed the characters.

In this interview, we talked about:

*** Why make "Hit and Run?"
*** Executive producer Jim Casey and Producer Kim Waltrip are from my hometown of Palm Springs, so we talked about their involvement in the film
*** My two favorite scenes in the film -- the close your eyes scene, and the first car chase scene
*** What do they want the moviegoers to take away from the film?

"The Expendables 2" Number 1...with a Whimper! Sequel Fails to Match Original!

Sure, "The Expendables 2" was much better than the original but it failed to match the box-office muscle of the first film. "The Expendables" stormed its way to the top two years ago with $34.8 million but now, the sequel, while still No. 1 at the box-office, only managed a $28.8 million debut. Sylvester Stallone and his fellow action stars, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, created a much better sequel but I think the novelty is gone.

But the film, according to distributor Lionsgate, scored a strong A- from audiences so it may have legs to keep it going and going and going at the box-office.

Previous weekend's box-office champ, "The Bourne Legacy," fell a steep 55 percent from its $38.1 million opening. The fourth installment, aka reboot starring Jeremy Renner, slipped to No. 2 with $17 million. So far, the action flick has made $69.6 million at the box-office for two weeks.

At No. 3 was Focus Features' stop-motion animated spectacle "ParaNorman" featuring voices by Kodi Smit-McPhee, Casey Affleck, Leslie Mann, Anna Kendrick, and John Goodman. From the companies who gave us "Coraline," "ParaNorman" tells the story of a boy who sees dead people. The film opened with a respectable $14 million.

Win exclusive "ParaNorman" prizes including action figure, slippers, shirts and much more!

Watch my interviews with Casey Affleck, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, and the writer/co-director Chris Butler, and co-director Sam Fell.

Meanwhile, "Sparkle" failed to, well, sparkle at the box-office. Starring "American Idol" winner, Jordin Sparks, and billed as Whitney Houston's filnal film, "Sparkle" entered at No. 5 with $12 million. This one's a remake of the 1976 flick starring Irene Cara.

Another new entry at the box-office was the feel-good Disney flick "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton which debuted at No. 7 with $10.9 million.

Here's the estimated Top 10 Box-Office Films for the weekend of August 17th:

1. "The Expendables 2," $28.8 million.

2. "The Bourne Legacy," $17 million.

3. "ParaNorman," $14 million.

4. "The Campaign," $13.4 million.

5. "Sparkle," $12 million.

6. "The Dark Knight Rises," $11.1 million.

7. "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," $10.9 million.

8. "Hope Springs," $9.1 million.

9. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days," $3.9 million ($867,000 international).

10. "Total Recall," $3.5 million.

Help Our "Final Destination 5" Friends and Win Great Prizes! The Fun Emma Bell, Ellen Wroe Kickstarter Project!

Emma Bell and Ellen Wroe -- I adore these lovely ladies (click on their names to see my fun interviews with them for "Final Destination 5")! I interviewed them for "Final Destination 5" last year, and this year, they were so sweet to reach out to little old me for help! You see, they are currently working on The Food Ditty, their spoof "Rap/Jazz/R&B parody mocking the dichotomous viewpoints of the American health food craze and obesity obstacle. It will be a quirky, quaint and quite idiosyncratic video much in the vein of Ellen's first spoof rap video, The Gatorade Rap, which can be viewed here."

And now, they've launched their Kickstarter campaign and so far, they have 107 backers, $10,299 pledged of $15,000 goal, BUT, they only have 5 days to go! So can you please help them? Even for a dollar? Their fun Food Ditty project will only be funded if at least $15,000 is pledged by Thursday, Aug. 23rd at 9:49am EDT.

And here's the coolest thing -- if you donate, both Ellen and Emma promise various rewards such as autographed "Final Destination 5" posters, original scripts, and, if you're a fan of "The Walking Dead" like me, you will be happy to know that the shirt worn by Emma Bell as her character, Amy, before she was eaten by zombies, is one of the rewards as well!

Click here to go to their Kickstarter campaign...please?

So go help and get rewarded by the fabulous Ellen and Emma!

Here's Ellen's "The Gatorade Rap" again. I'm sure their "The Food Ditty" project will be as equally funny! So help, help, help!

Thank you :happy
