"Burn After Reading" Movie Review -- How Many Kisses Does Brad Pitt Get?

Watching a new Coen Brothers (“No Country for Old Men”) movie is a treat. You know you will see a truly original film and meet interesting characters along the way.

From the psychotic Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) in “No Country for Old Men” to the smart, pregnant cop Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) in “Fargo,” the gifted filmmakers etch out indelible characters that remain with us long after the films have been released.

In “Burn After Reading,” the most unforgettable role belongs to Brad Pitt. His portrayal of Chad Feldheimer, the bumbling fitness club attendant, reconfirms my belief in him as an actor. Read More...

"Borat" Lawsuits Thrown Out!

Borat will be very happy!

A New York judge has tossed out a lawsuit filed by this driving instructor, remember him?

Judge Loretta Preska also tossed out lawsuits brought by two etiquette schoolteachers.

Both the driving instructor and the schoolteachers said the "Borat" filmmakers deceived them.

But Judge Preska said,

all three accepted money and signed agreements releasing the filmmakers from liability. She noted in a Sept. 3 ruling the agreements said the plaintiffs consented to appear in a "documentary-style" movie

All I'm saying is, Sacha Baron Cohen and company better get ready for fresh new lawsuits that will come from his upcoming film, "Bruno."

"Evil Dead" the Musical -- the Movie Version!

First it was a really great horror/comedy, then it became a Canadian-off-Broadway musical, now, "Evil Dead: The Musical" may be headed back to the big screen with songs from the original stage production!

This is intriguing. How will the dead sing?

Here's the synopsis of the stage musical according to Wikipedia:

Several college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods, accidentally unleashing an evil terror. In this comedic take on the 80s horror franchise, characters and demons sing and dance to songs written specifically for the musical. And, as in the films, Ash is there to dish out his various one liners and fight the never ending Army of Darkness. Audiences are typically warned that the first few rows may get wet as the play calls for large amounts of stage blood to be splattered . (Ponchos are provided during the 15 minute intermission before Act Two).

The musical takes creative liberty with the plot line of the movies, mixing together the characters and concepts of all three, as well as changing sequences for the sake of the stage and comedic intent.
