Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore Joining "Thor"

"Thor" conjures up new cast members!

Jaimie Alexander ("Kyle XY") and Colm Feore ("24" and "The Listener" but I remember him more as the creepy villain in "Stephen King's Storm of the Century") are joining the cast of "Thor," the Marvel Studios adaptation of its comic book about the Norse god of thunder.

Kenneth Branagh is attached to direct.

Alexander will play the role of Sif, a skilled Asgardian warrior. she is one of Thor's many loves. That Thor is such a playboy :happy

Meanwhile, Feore's role is being kept hush hush. But one thing we know, he's going to be a villain.

Chris Hemsworth is set to play Thor, Tom Hiddleston will play Loki, Thor's nemesis, and Natalie Portman is going to play Thor's love interest, Jane Foster.

The plot is about how Thor, banished to Earth and forced to live among humans, learns how to be a true hero.

Facebook the Movie Makes Connections with Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake

As we told you last year, Aaron Sorkin wrote a drama about the formation of Facebook. (See "Facebook the Movie?")

Now, Columbia Pictures and director David Fincher are making important connections to complete its main cast for the film, which is being called, "The Social Network."

Here's the cast:

*** Jesse Eisenberg ("Adventureland") will play founder Mark Zuckerbeg

*** Justin Timberlake ("The Open Road") will bring sexy back as Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president

*** Andrew Garfield (“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus") will play Eduardo Saverin, the Facebook co-founder who became Zuckerberg's nemesis

Production is set to begin in October and will be shot in Boston and Los Angeles.

"The Social Network" is shaping up to be an interesting film. The formation of Facebook and all the drama it entailed is full of catfighting, backstabbing, and drama queens!

Diablo Cody Fails with "Jennifer's Body," Re-enters High School with "Sweet Valley High"

Diablo Cody enrolls in "Sweet Valley High." She'll be writing and producing an adaptation of the book series for Universal Pictures.

The book series created by Francine Pascal and published by Random House followed the lives of identical twins Elizabeth and Jessica. Elizabeth is sweet and practical while Jessica is flighty and boy-crazy. Their fictional town is called, what else, Sweet Valley.

More than 150 books were created for the series between 1983 and 2003, and there's also a TV series with 88 episodes between 1994 and 1997 starring the Doublemint Twin models Brittany (Jessica) and Cynthia (Elizabeth) Daniel.

Connor MacLeod Returns! Summit Announces "Highlander" Reboot!

Summit Entertainment, the home that "Twilight" built, has hired "Fast & Furious'" Justin Lin to direct "Highlander" the reboot! The studio wants a franchise!

Lin's producing partner for "Fast and Furious," Neal H. Moritz, will oversee production. "Iron Man" scriptwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are writing the script.

I enjoyed the original 1986 film directed by Russell Mulcahy. But it's unclear whether the original cast -- Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, and Roxanne Hart -- will make an appearance for the reboot.

According to Variety, Summit plans to expand "on the original "Highlander" premise of immortals hunting each other through the ages. The new pic will center on the immortal Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod, who must confront a murderous barbarian who lusts for a fabled prize."

Moritz is also producing the upcoming "Flash Gordon" and "The Green Hornet."

As far as the "Highlander" remake is concerned, no word yet on cast or production start date so stay tuned...For now, let's look at the trailer of the original 1986 film.

"Twilight's" Stephenie Meyer's Next Film That's Not About Vampires or Werewolves, But Aliens!

"The Host," the first adult novel from "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer, is set to become a full-feature film! Producers Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz have acquired screen rights.

Variety is saying that the producers have used their own money to purchase the rights. Wow, they must really, really love the book!

Andrew Niccol ("Gattaca," "Lord of War") will write the script and direct.

"The Host" is a science fiction/romance novel about an alien race, called souls, who take over Earth and its inhabitants. But the drama begins when one human host refuses to be taken over by a soul.

Here's more info about "The Host" from wikipedia:

The idea for The Host originated on a trip from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. Bored, Meyer made up stories to entertain herself, and was halfway through outlining the story of The Host in her head before realizing what she had created. She notes that the story grabbed her attention, and that she "could tell there was something compelling in the idea of such a complicated triangle." Originally meant to be a side project, The Host eventually became a priority.

The character of Ian was originally meant to play an extremely small role. As a matter of fact, Meyer had no plans for a romance between Ian and Wanderer until Jared "got on [her] last nerve", and Ian "refused to be ignored".

The title "The Host" comes from the perspective of the main character, Wanderer, because her "host" Melanie forever changes the way she sees the world.

So Meyer, at first, wasn't interested to turn the book to film, having been busy with her "Twilight" book-to-movie excursions. But the producers eventually won her over with a significant offer she couldn't refuse PLUS they have a strong vision for the project!

Additionally, Variety is reporting that Niccol came on board after the producers asked Meyer her favorite science fiction films. They just so happened to include "Gattaca" (Niccol wrote and directed that film) and "The Truman Show" (he wrote that Jim Carrey extravaganza).

Well it sounds like it's going to be a collaborative effort, so more power to y'all! Hope the movie is good :happy
