Director Charles Martin Smith Talks About "Dolphin Tale" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer!"

“Dolphin Tale” is a fantastic family film about the inspiring and incredible bond between humans and animals. Don’t miss this touching and charming film when it opens September 23rd.

The director of the film, Charles Martin Smith, spent many years crafting the film, so we can truthfully called “Dolphin Tale” a labor of love.

In this interview, we talked about:

Why did he want to make “Dolphin Tale?”
Its “based on real-life events” angle
Winter’s personality
Winter’s never-give-up mantra
Working with both animals and kids, a big Hollywood production no-no!
As a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fan, I was very happy to meet the first director of one of the best shows on TV! He directed the pilot of “Buffy”
What’s his passion right now?

HAVE FUN!

Swimming free, a young dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail. She is rescued and transported to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, where she is named Winter. But her fight for survival has just begun. Without a tail, Winter's prognosis is dire. It will take the expertise of a dedicated marine biologist, the ingenuity of a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and the unwavering devotion of a young boy to bring about a groundbreaking miracle -- a miracle that might not only save Winter but could also help scores of people around the world. The real Winter, who plays herself in "Dolphin Tale," today serves as a symbol of courage, perseverance and hope to millions of people -- both able and disabled -- who have been touched by her remarkable story of recovery and rehabilitation.

The Hunky and Sweet Austin Stowell Talks About “Dolphin Tale”

Austin Stowell, perhaps best known for his role as Jesse in ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” stars in “Dolphin Tale” as Kyle Connellan, a champion swimmer turned Iraq War vet.

Stowell was charming and sweet in person, and I wish him nothing but the best!

In this interview, we talked about:

What attracted him to making “Dolphin Tale?”
His big honor in playing Kyle and representing our nation’s heroes
Meeting the star of the movie, Winter, for the very first time
Working on the set

This Looks Sooooo Good! Check Out New Trailer of "J. Edgar!"
I can't wait to see this! We all know that director Clint Eastwood is a certifiable "Oscar bait" and he's at it again with this seemingly potent film about the life and times of the crime fighter. Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the titular role, and "The Social Network's" Armie Hammer is Clyde Tolson, the is-he-or-is-he-not the lover of Hoover?

Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black ("Milk") wrote the script, so this may have weight and gravitas needed to tell the story of "J. Edgar." The Warner Bros. film opens November 9th.

Here's more info on "J. Edgar" Hoover from Yahoo:

Based on the life of J. Edgar Hoover, the man often credited with making the FBI what it is today: an efficient, crime-fighting organization shrouded in secrecy. Hoover founded the organization in 1935 and remained director until his death in 1972.

Genres: Drama and Biopic
Release Date: November 9th, 2011 (limited)
Distributors: Warner Bros. Pictures

Cast and Credits
Starring: Lea Coco, Leonardo DiCaprio, Josh Lucas, Armie Hammer, Damon Herriman
Directed by: Clint Eastwood
Produced by: Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Robert Lorenz
