"Hitchcock" to Open AFI Fest!

So I heard that the buzz surrounding Sacha Gervasi's "Hitchcock" is deafening that Fox Searchlight is very confident in entering the film for Oscar considerations. And now, according to THR, "Hitchcock" will make its world premiere on Nov. 1 as the opening-night movie of the AFI Fest 2012.

Directed by Gervasi ("Anvil! The Story of Anvil!") and written by John J. McLaughlin ("Black Swan") based on the book "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho" by Stephen Rebello," the cast includes Anthony Hopkins as Sir Alfred Hitchcock, Helen Mirren as Hitchcock's wife and muse, Alma Reville, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, James D'Arcy as Anthony Perkins, and Jessica Biel as Vera Miles. Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow, and Kurtwood Smith completes the cast.

According to Fox Searclight, "Hitchcock" is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie Psycho.

"Hitchcock" will be released (limited) on Nov. 23, 2012.

Snakes! Check Out New Pic of "Noah" and His Ark

I never imagined Noah's ark to be full of snakes, oh, and alligator too! But this coming from director Darren Aronofsky, I'm totally teased!

Thanks to director of photography Matthew Libatique (who's a fellow Filipino, by the way, yeah!), he tweeted the above image by way of our friends at THR. But don't go looking for Libatique's tweeted pic, he took it down.

I can't wait for this movie which comes out on March, 2014. Russell Crowe leads the all-star cast that features Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone and Anthony Hopkins.

Brand New "Les Miserables" Poster

Channeling the look of the original Broadway production, Universal has released the brand new poster for the adaptation of "Les Miserables" and it pretty much looked like the musical poster except it showcases child actress Isabelle Allen who's playing the young version of Cossette (Amanda Seyfried plays the older version of the character).

Universal has been doubling down in teasing us with this musical directed by Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech"). Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway co-star. Last week, the studio released the show-stopping extended featurette of the movie (Want to see it? Click here), and now, this poster!

I can't wait! Christmas can't come soon enough!
