I love "Kick-Ass" like most of you do! So you may be happy to know that Jim Carrey is officially joining the sequel now known as "Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall." Director Jeff Wadlow, who is inheriting the director's chair from Matthew Vaughn, revealed in a tweet that "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then!"
Carrey will star as The Colonel, he's one of the good guys who'll help Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz).
Vaughn will produce the sequel and Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage are reprising their roles.
Let's see if Carrey will do justice to The Colonel or if Wadlow will do justice to the sequel when "Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall" targets theaters on June 28, 2013.

Directed by Peter Ramsey and written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire ("Rabbit Hole"), "Rise of the Guardians" is based on the highly acclaimed series of children's books by William Joyce. Joyce, who won an Oscar® last year for his animated short "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore," was named by Newsweek as "one of the top 100 people to watch in the new millennium. "Rise of the Guardians" stars the voice talents of Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law. Produced by Christina Steinberg and Nancy Bernstein and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, Michael Siegel, and William Joyce, the DreamWorks Animation feature film will be released by Paramount Pictures on November 21st.
The announcement was made today by Carlos de Abreu, Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Awards. "It is a great pleasure to recognize "Rise of the Guardians" as the recipient of our animation award. This piece of Avant-garde animation style surely will be another classic for generations to come."
Said Bill Damaschke, Chief Creative Officer at DreamWorks Animation, "This award is a testament to the vision and dedication of our director Peter Ramsey and our producers Christina Steinberg and Nancy Bernstein, who saw in William Joyce's beautifully written books a truly magical world that he was able to bring to life with the help of David Lindsay-Abaire's wonderful screenplay and, of course, the outstanding work by his entire filmmaking team. We could not be more proud of the movie, or this recognition, and we thank Carlos and the Hollywood Film Awards for this great honor."
Past recipients of the Hollywood Animation Award include "Cars," "Rango," "Ratatouille," "Toy Story 3," "UP," and "Wall-E."

So the mystery speaker has been revealed by Fox News. And it's no other than Clint Eastwood. But, the cable network is saying there's still a surprise guest so stay tuned.
Eastwood will be speaking Thursday night before Senator Marco Rubio and GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney. This big hoopla is, of course, to solidify Eastwood's image as a conservative in Hollywood and to help promote Eastwood's upcoming film, "The Trouble with the Curve" coming September 21st.

Goodbye Hugh Laurie, hello Michael Keaton. The actor is set to play the role of Raymond Sellars in the upcoming "RoboCop" remake from MGM/Columbia Pictures. According to Deadline, Sellars is the CEO of the corporation that builds RoboCop. The remake of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven film (yes, Hollywood is in a Verhoeven remake kick lately, with "Total Recall" being the first) is set to begin production next month. "RoboCop" will protect theaters on August 9, 2013.
Keaton will be joining Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Abbie Cornish. Jose Padilha, who is set to direct the film says, "Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209’s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets."
We shall see if this "RoboCop" is ultimately superior to the original.
