Lin Shaye and Leigh Whannell Talk About “Insidious: Chapter 2”

I sat down with Lin Shaye (Elise) and Leigh Whannell (scriptwriter and actor who plays Specs) for the sequel “Insidious: Chapter 2.” The film follows immediately what happened after the first movie. Who killed Elise? Director James Wan, who I’m calling as the contemporary master of suspense, returns with Patrick Wilson (Josh Lambert) and Rose Byrne (Renai Lambert) to the world of “Insidious” for this creepy sequel. Fresh from “The Conjuring,” Wan is back to spook us all.

In this fun interview, we talked about:

*** How the film successfully expounded on the mythology explored on the first film
*** The supernatural domestic drama of the movie
*** It’s a domestic drama masquerading as a thriller
*** Elise as the nurturer – how was it returning back to the role
*** Leigh’s advice to viewers

See New "RoboCop" Trailer, if You Care!

"RoboCop," the reboot/remake (they're both the same words by now, at least in Hollywood) arrives in theaters on Feb. 7, 2014 and already, we have a brand new trailer from MGM/Sony hyping the crime fighter's new look! Here's the official plotline:

The year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe, and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

But no matter what you think of the reboot, "RoboCop" features a stellar cast with Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earl Haley, Jay Baruchel, and Michael Keaton all lending a helping hand to Swedish-American actor, Joel Kinnaman, who's playing our titular hero.

Listen to "Gravity" Soundtrack Plus See Full Trailer!

Early word on "Gravity" is.......it's breathtaking! Awesome! Inspiring! Now, take note -- I haven't seen the film so I can't confirm these accolades, BUT, we do have the soundtrack courtesy of our friends at Huff Post. Steven Price, from "Lord of the Rings" and who wrote the score for Edgar Wright's "The World's End" is the man behind the soundtrack to Alfonso Cuaron's latest opus, "Gravity" starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Click here to listen to the soundtrack.

And here's the brand new trailer for "Gravity!" I can't wait for the film to open on Oct. 4th! Sandra Bullock sees NOTHING!

“Getaway,” “Closed Circuit” Movie Reviews! And a Bit About “One Direction: This Is Us” Too!

It’s Selena Gomez versus Eric Bana by way of One Direction at the box-office this Labor Day weekend. We have “Getaway,” “Closed Circuit,” and “One Direction: This Is Us” vying for your movie money!

In “Getaway,” Gomez stars as The Kid who must help Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) save his kidnapped wife. In order to do so, Brent must get behind the wheel of a Shelby Mustang Super Snake and follow the orders of a mysterious man (Jon Voight).

Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall play ex-lovers in “Closed Circuit.” They must team up as part of the defense team in this legal thriller from director John Crowley (“Intermission,” “Boy A”) and screenwriter Steven Knight (“Eastern Promises,” “Dirty Pretty Things”).

And then we have a movie made especially for 1D fans called “One Direction: This Is Us.” It’s a special look inside the lives of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis, and Harry and their meteoric rise to fame! Here’s the more interesting part, it’s directed by Morgan Spurlock, the guy who gave us the quasi-documentary “Super Size Me.” Intriguing!
