Summer of 2011 is shaping up to be one of the biggest blockbuster seasons ever!
Paramount picked July 1, 2011 to roll out "Transformers 3." Director Michael Bay is set to return, as well as Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.
On his website, Bay announced that he's begun meetings with ILM and Hasbro, and writer Ehren Kruger.
But giant robots must fight with super heroes and a certain panda who loves kung fu for world domination!
In May of 2011, "Spider-Man 4" will swing into action, and "Thor" flies into theaters that month as well. Oh, and "The Hangover 2" will open in May too!
In June, "The Green Lantern" will be launched and the sequel to "Kung Fu Panda" will kick its way to theaters. And in July, along with "Transformers 3," the second part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will spread its magic as well.
But wait, there's more! Also out in July of 2011 are "The First Avenger: Captain America," "Battleship" and "The Smurfs."
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is also set to sail that summer. Whew! It's gonna be a big summer season, I told 'ya.

I don't know about you, but I think John Williams is a god and he makes memorable music to fit any film he's working on. And the music he created for "Star Wars" was one of the excellent examples of the composer's brilliance.
Now, in a performance installation piece of some sorts, "Star Wars" fans are in for a treat! You'll see and hear the sights and sounds of the Luke Skywalker-Darth Vader soap opera -- amplified music and instrumentation, lasers, flames, smokes, and a giant high-definition LED screen will show clips from all SIX movies, yes, even the not so good ones
The nearly two-hour show will present the George Lucas creation in a rough chronological order but will also be grouped in different musical themes -- romance, drama, evil!
The elaborate production requires 12 semi truck to transport the show from one city to the next. After a two-performance tryout in London in April, "Star Wars: In Concert" arrives at Anaheim's Honda Center tonight and tomorrow. Then, it will travel to downtown L.A.'s Nokia Theatre on Oct. 7th and 8th.
Besides music and lavish production numbers, you'll also see:
* Full costumes for Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon will be on display.
* For the first time ever, pages from John Williams' original hand-written sheet music for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace will be exhibited for the public.
* Also on display will be various never-before-seen props from the films, including blasters and helmets from Coruscant, Tatooine and other iconic Star Wars locations.

Back in August, we told you about the upcoming "Red Dawn" remake. Well, it's being shot right now in Pontiac, Michigan, and you can check new production pictures, as well as a daily production blog.
Check out more photos right here, and check the site right here.
Here's more info about the "Red Dawn" remake:
Remember the 1984 film "Red Dawn" starring Patrick Swayze? The film tells the story of Colorado teenagers who band together to defend their town, and eventually their country, from invading Soviet troops.
It is the dawn of World War III.
Well, the dawn of the remake is upon us. Right now, actors Chris Hemsworth (Captain Kirk's daddy in "Star Trek" and the-man-who-would-be-Thor), Josh Peck ("Drillbit Taylor," "The Wackness"), and Adrianne Palicki ("Supernatural") are set to star.
Joining them are Josh Hutcherson ("Journey to the Center of the Earth," "Bridge to Terabithia"), Isabel Lucas ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen"), Connor Cruise (the 14-year-old son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and he played the young Will Smith in "Seven Pounds"), and Edwin Hodge ("Heroes," "Bones").
The plot remains the same except this time, Chinese soldiers join the Russians in invading America!
Hemsworth will channel Swayze as Jed, Peck will play the Charlie Sheen character Matt, and Palicki will play the Jennifer Grey character Toni.
Hutcherson will play Robert originated by C. Thomas Howell, Lucas will play Erica originated by Lea Thompson, Cruise will play Daryl originated by Darren Dalton, and Hodge will play Danny originated by Brad Savage.
The young cast will go to boot camp in an undisclosed location.
Actor-stunt coordinator-assistant director Dan Bradley is set to direct from a screenplay by Jeremy Passmore and Carl Ellsworth based on the script by the original writer-director John Milius.

In July, we told you that Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis are set to star in "The Hangover" director Todd Phillips' road trip comedy "Due Date."
The film will feature Galifianakis as an unlikely companion of an expectant dad (Downey) who races cross-country in hopes of making it home for the birth of his first child.
Foxx will play Downey's longtime friend who once dated his wife (Michelle Monaghan). The problem is, he still secretly keeps in touch with her.
The script is written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, and shooting begins this fall in Atlanta, New Mexico, and Los Angeles.
This is a great cast from a funny director, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

In June, citing personal reasons, Sean Penn announced that he was taking a movie making sabbatical and left the films "The Three Stooges" and "Cartel." (See Bummer! Sean Penn Says No to "Three Stooges" Among Others!)
Now, Universal Pictures has set Josh Brolin to star in "Cartel." Asger Leth will direct the drama, and production is set to begin in January in Mexico City. Brian Grazes is producing through his Imagine Entertainment banner. Peter Craig wrote the script.
Variety tells us that "Brolin will play a man on a mission to protect his son after his wife is brutally murdered in the gritty world of Mexican cartels." The film is inspired by the 1993 Italian drama "La scorta."
"Cartel" is going to be Leth's feature film debut. He directed the 2006 documentary "Ghosts of Cite Soleil."
Penn was a great choice for the film, but Brolin is a perfect replacement. The actor's career, sparked by his turn in "No Country for Old Men," is still on fire! Brolin has just finished filming a Woody Allen feature and "Jonah Hex." He will next be working on "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" for director Oliver Stone.
