My Special Interview with My Hero, Michael Moore, for "Capitalism: A Love Story"

I had a blast talking to Michael Moore about his new film "Capitalism: A Love Story." I love his movies for he creates a fine balance to make you laugh, cry, and angry at the same time. From "Roger & Me" to "Capitalism: A Love Story," Moore knows how to entertain and inform -- a hard feat for the documentary genre.

Here's my interview with Moore about his film, certainly one of his best, "Capitalism: A Love Story."

Capitalism: A Love Story

On the 20-year anniversary of his groundbreaking masterpiece Roger & Me, Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story comes home to the issue he's been examining throughout his career: the disastrous impact of corporate dominance on the everyday lives of Americans (and by default, the rest of the world). But this time the culprit is much bigger than General Motors, and the crime scene far wider than Flint, Michigan. From Middle America, to the halls of power in Washington, to the global financial epicenter in Manhattan, Michael Moore will once again take film goers into uncharted territory. With both humor and outrage, Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story explores a taboo question: What is the price that America pays for its love of capitalism? Years ago, that love seemed so innocent. Today, however, the American dream is looking more like a nightmare as families pay the price with their jobs, their homes and their savings. Moore takes us into the homes of ordinary people whose lives have been turned upside down; and he goes looking for explanations in Washington, DC and elsewhere. What he finds are the all-too-familiar symptoms of a love affair gone astray: lies, abuse, betrayal...and 14,000 jobs being lost every day. Capitalism: A Love Story is both a culmination of Moore's previous works and a look into what a more hopeful future could look like. It is Michael Moore's ultimate quest to answer the question he's posed throughout his illustrious filmmaking career: Who are we and why do we behave the way that we do? Written by Overture Films

Watch My Movie Review of a Filipino Flick "In My Life" Starring Vilma Santos! This is For Filipina Mothers All Over the World!

I enjoyed "In My Life." The Stars Cinema film had its U.S. premiere last weekend courtesy of ABS-CBN International, where yours truly can be seen every Friday at 5:30pm in the U.S. in their newscast called Balitang America.

The newscast can also be seen in the Philippines on ANC. The Friday edition runs every Saturday at 6:30pm in the Philippines. Check out their site right here and the ABS-CBN International site right here.

Here's my review, hope you like it, and you can read about "In My Life," after the vid. Have fun!

REDWOOD CITY, CA, September 9 2009 – On the occasion of TFC’s 15th and Star Cinema’s16th anniversaries, ABS-CBN International’s Starry Starry Store brings to the U.S. the much awaited comeback of the Philippine entertainment industry’s Star for All Seasons: multi-awarded actress and current Batangas Province Governor Vilma Santos in the comedy-drama, In My Life.

The last time fans caught Santos on screen was in Mano Po 3: My Love in 2004. In In My Life, Santos was thrilled by the key “firsts” she encountered: her first time to play the role of a mother of a gay son (played by Luis Manzano), her first time to be in the movie with her real-life son (Manzano) and the first time for Manzano and reigning Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz to play gay characters in love.

“In My Life offers you a different Vilma Santos, a different John Lloyd Cruz and a different Luis Manzano,” said the film’s director, Olivia Lamasan, the woman behind the blockbusters Milan, Sana Maulit Muli, Got 2 Believe and Madrasta. “You have to see the genuine chemistry among these three actors who are together for the first time in a movie. This is also a unique film because it presents a mother in her 50s, thinking that she’s been through all and seen it all, when in actuality, a new chapter in her life is just beginning.”

Santos plays Shirley, a public school librarian who wants to be in control of everything. Her unwarranted intervention in the lives of her children and their families leads to their emotional detachment from each other. Feeling she has lost her command over her children, she flies to New York to reunite with his estranged son, Mark (Manzano) only to find out that her son is gay and she has to live with him and his lover, illegal immigrant Noel (Cruz). As Shirley struggles to deal with the situation and with living in the Big Apple, she discovers that being gay is not the only huge secret that Mark is keeping. Discovering what this is will change Shirley’s life forever.

“This is a heart-warming story about acceptance, friendship and love that is masterfully handled by director Lamasan and brilliantly acted by the lead actors,” said Kerwin Du, ABS-CBN North America’s head of theatricals. “We are so proud to bring the film to the U.S. and hold premieres in the east and west coasts to kick off in a grand way the fall season movie offerings from ABS-CBN.”

Sylvester Stallone Has A "Death Wish" Plus, He Really, Really Wants Edgar Allan Poe!

Sylvester Stallone is all over the pop culture landscape. The actor-director is starting to tease us with his upcoming "The Expendables" and he's also working on the pre-production for "Rambo 5."

But now, he revealed to Empire Online, that he wanted to remake the Charles Bronson masterpiece, "Death Wish." It's the original vigilante movie from the 70s.

"I'm thinking about it," Stallone told Empire. "It's a classic morality tale, where you take a civilised man and take away everything that matters to him so he becomes primitive again."

But wait, there's more! Stallone is not stopping with "Death Wish" for all his film wishes. He also has a passion for American Gothic writer Edgar Allan Poe. Sly wants his pit and pendulum too :happy

Although Stallone said he would not be playing the author (he died at 39), he thinks an autobiographical film about Poe is bound to come.

When asked about the planned "Cliffhanger" remake, the actor told Empire, "You know you've been around when they start to remake your own movies when you're still alive."

Aw, just don't let them remake "Rocky" 'cause Stallone is still the Italian Stallion!

First Look: "Clash of the Titans" and Sam Worthington in All His Perseus Glory!

Doesn't Sam Worthington look hot in this picture? He's Perseus-perfect! When I first heard that he's going to star in the role that Harry Hamlin made famous for in the 1981 original film, I was skeptical.

But upon meeting the actor, and seeing pics of him in his Perseus costume, I'm sold! I love Greek mythology, so I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. But we have to wait until March 26 of 2010 before we can see the film.

Full disclosure -- Worthington is my new man-crush. Why? He's nice, sweet, and he watches my videos! Yes! Check out my fun interview with him for "Terminator Salvation" by clicking here. I even made Christian Bale laugh when I told him I'm replacing him for Worthington in my man-crush category HA! :happy
