The new album features rock acts such as Lykke Li, Bon Iver & St. Vincent, Sea Wolf and Grizzly Bear. Muse, featured on the first “Twilight” ablum, returns to the new soundtrack. Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, OK Go and Death Cab for Cutie also join the project.

Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox” is the album’s lead-off track.

Most of the acts on the album worked with “New Moon” director Chris Weitz to make sure his vision is matched musically. The new album has a more somber, subdued tone to support’s the film’s spirit.

"Where the Wild Things Are" Movie Review! See Major Differences Between Book and Movie! Spoiler Alert!

When I heard that Warner Bros. was going to produce a film version of the beloved children’s classic “Where the Wild Things Are,” I was skeptical at best. How could director Spike Jonze adapt a book of only 20 pages and 10 sentences into a full-feature film?

The result is a visually compelling adventure that is respectful of the 1963 children’s picture book. Jonze and company capture author Maurice Sendak’s psychoanalytical tone and expound on the theme – how kids master various feelings.

As a child, I identified with the main character Max. In the book, he is sent to bed without dinner but then a forest starts to grow in his room and an ocean tumbles by with a private boat to sail to where the wild things are. After taming the wild things and being hailed their ruler, Max sails back home just in time for supper. Who doesn’t want to be Max? Read More...

"Up in the Air's" Anna Kendrick to be Honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival

Anna Kendrick ("Twilight," "New Moon") will be honored for her performance in the upcoming "Up in the Air" by my hometown film festival, the fabulous Palm Springs International Film Festival!

Kendrick will receive the Rising Star Award at the Awards Gala, presented by Cartier, on Jan. 5th, 2010. The event, to be hosted by Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart, will kick-off the 2010 Awards Season and will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Festival chairman Harold Matzner said, "Anna Kendrick is an extremely gifted young actress. At age 12, she received a Tony Award nomination for best featured actress in a musical for her role as Dinah in 'High Society.' Now in her mid 20s, she has gone from strength to strength with each succeeding screen roll."

"Up in the Air" from "Juno" director, Jason Reitman, also stars George Clooney. The film, making a loud Oscar buzz, will be released by Paramount on Dec. 4.

Kendrick previously starred in "Camp" and "Rocket Science" but perhaps, best known for her role as Jessica Stanley in the "Twilight" series.

The 21st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival will run from Jan. 5-18. Visit the festival's official site right here.

Chris Pine -- From Captain Kirk to Jack Ryan?

Chris Pine is negotiating with Paramount Pictures to star as CIA analyst Jack Ryan in the reboot of the franchise!

Based on the Tom Clancy novels, the character was first played by Alec Baldwin in "The Hunt for Red October," then Harrison Ford in "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger," and then Ben Affleck in "The Sum of All Fears."

Now, after helping reboot "Star Trek" (also from Paramount) playing Captain James T. Kirk, Pine is set to help relaunch the Jack Ryan franchise. The actor will be working with Paramount for a long, long time.

Tommy Lee Jones to Direct Matthew McConaughey in "The Lincoln Lawyer"

Tommy Lee Jones is in talks to direct and co-star in "The Lincoln Lawyer." Matthew McConaughey heads the cast of this film adaptation based on the 2005 best-seller by Michael Connelly.

McConaughey is set to play Mickey Haller, a Los Angeles lawyer whose office is the back of his Lincoln. He defends run-of-the-mill criminals until he lands the case of a lifetime -- defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder.

It's still unclear what Jones will play because in the book, the playboy character is a lot younger than the actor, BUT, they may change the age to fit him.

John Romano ("Nights in Rodanthe," "Intolerable Cruelty") wrote the script. Jones has directed a film before, the excellent "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada." He also starred in that movie, winning a Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival.

McConaughey has played a lawyer before in the John Grisham adaptation, "A Time to Kill."
