No Sign of Mel! Charlize Theron to Star in "Mad Max 4"

Charlize Theron is set to star in the fourth installment of the "Mad Max" franchise called "Fury Road."

The actress will be working with producer-director George Miller and production is set to start filming next August in Australia.

British actor Tom Hardy from "Black Hawk Down" will co-star with Theron. Warner Bros. is set to distribute "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Hhhmmmmm, will you even watch this sequel when it comes out? As I've said before, a "Mad Max" film without Mel Gibson is like an "Indiana Jones" movie without Harrison Ford!

What I Honestly Think of "Michael Jackson's This Is It"

Okay, let’s get this out of the way – we all know that “This Is It” was released to capitalize on Michael Jackson – his death and his renewed popularity. Now that we got that out of the way, let me tell you that “This Is It” is an entertaining trifle that serves as a testimony to the “awesomeness” of the King of Pop.

Part documentary, part concert film, this hybrid of a movie offers a behind-the-scenes look as the iconic performer prepared for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London’s O2 Arena.

Shot from March through June of this year, the film is lovingly directed and edited by longtime Jackson collaborator, Kenny Ortega. It’s the irony of “the final show” that makes this film heartbreaking.

The finished film is a concert run-through of some sorts although none of them are dress rehearsals so we never see the full, intended show. We can, however, imagine the spectacle of a show “that could have been.”

The one aspect of the film I love the most is being a witness to Jackson, the perfectionist performer. Every time he corrects a dancer, or when Jackson suggests ways to improve the show to his music director, you will see a master at work!

There are some cloying, sappy moments, but “This Is It” is a fitting farewell to a singer, dancer, and creative genius. As a documentary, I wished Ortega and company dug deeper into the performer’s psyche, but as a tribute, “This It It” is topnotch! I miss the man already.

RATING: :3k
