Viola Davis Talks About the Many Values of “Ender’s Game,” And I Made Her Say For Realz! HA!

Talking to Viola Davis is so soothing! The Oscar nominee is cool, calm, and collected but still knows how to drop street lingos like for realz (HA!). In the upcoming film “Ender’s Game” opening Friday, Nov. 1st, Davis stars as Major Gwen Anderson who serves as the heart compared to Harrison Ford’s Colonel Graff’s brain. The thespian matches Ford word per word and look per look. In this interview, we talked about:

*** Her interest in making the film
*** The dichotomy between her and Ford’s character
*** The film’s many great themes
*** Why she said for realz!
*** What she wants viewers to take away from watching “Ender’s Game?”

Official “Ender’s Game” Synopsis:

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the militarys next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, hes trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

"We Won, He Lost!" Harrison Ford’s Message in Response to “Ender’s Game’s” Author’s Anti-Gay Remarks

I was nervous bringing this up to Harrison Ford who plays Colonel Graff in the upcoming film, “Ender’s Game” opening Friday, Nov. 1st. I enjoyed the movie’s many great themes including compassion and peace. That’s why it behooves everyone that the book’s author, Orson Scott Card, made his anti-gay marriage comments publicly. So when I interviewed Ford, I couldn’t help but bring up the topic. To which the actor replied, without batting an eyelash, “we won, he lost!” Whoa! I’m now Harrison Ford’s biggest fan! Take a look at the interview below:

Finally, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" Trailer is Here, and It's Fantastic!

20th Century Fox has unveiled the full teaser trailer for Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past." The director returns to the franchise along with Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, and Patrick Stewart. I loved Matthew Vaughn's previous "X-Men" offering, "First Class," but I have faith that Singer will make an awesome follow-up.

We'll see.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" flies into theaters on May 23, 2014.

Here's the brand new teaser/trailer:

“Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa” and “All is Lost” Movie Reviews

Two very different films this weekend, we have the drama “All is Lost” and the raunchy comedy, “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” In “All is Lost,” Robert Redford gives a stellar performance as man who must battle the elements to survive. This is from writer-director, J.C. Chandor, who gave us the fantastic 2011 Wall Street drama “Margin Call.”

In “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa,” Johnny Knoxville stars as the titular character, Irving Zisman, and Jackson Nicoll is his 8-year-old grandson, Billy. Together, the unlikely pair travels across America encountering male strippers, child beauty pageant contestants, and many unsuspecting bystanders laughably put in unreal situations. This is from director Jeff Tremaine.

So which one is my pick of the week? Take a look.
