WRITERS STRIKE -- LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL?

Studios and networks are set to resume talks with striking writers on NOV. 26th!!!

I hope this will bring a much-needed resolution to the problem, and everyone involve will sigh a big "THANKS" just in time for the Thanksgiving season.

Just a reminder, the last 1988 strike? Hollywood lost $500M, and that was before multitude of TV viewing channels, DVDs, flicks, and the internet!

So, give those brilliant writers what they want, and let's continue our merry entertainment ways!

"ANGELS AND DEMONS" BANISHED BY STRIKE? WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE "DA VINCI CODE" SEQUEL?

Sony Pictures is saying that it is postponing production on the Tom Hanks flick -- "Angels and Demons."

Scriptwiter Akiva Goldsman tried to rush a workable screenplay prior to the Nov. 1 strike deadline -- but to no avail.

Plus, there are no other stars signed on to the film...yet.

Director Ron Howard was set to film by February -- but little Ronnie will just have to wait.

A BIGGER QUESTION? THE SAG (SCREEN ACTORS GUILD) AND THE DGA (DIRECTORS GUILD) ARE SET TO STRIKE IN JUNE!!! HOW WILL THAT AFFECT THE MAKING OF THIS DAN BROWN-BASED THRILLER?

AWARDS SHOWS -- DOOMED BY THE STRIKE?

Contrary to popular belief, those one-line zingers that actors spew during awards shows are not from their own creation, but from the brilliant minds of the writers behind the shows.

So what happens now?

GRAMMYS -- maybe not that much, since most of the telecast is populated by singers.

GLOBES -- not using as much writers as the Oscars, but let me tell ya, the producers of that show are keeping their fingers crossed that the strike will be done before their telecast on Jan . 13

OSCARS -- that great Bruce Villanch, who has written for 16 Oscarcasts is picketing -- so what to do? Surely Jon Stewart, who's hosting the gala and is a big supporter of the WGA, can't write a 3-hour show Oscar telecast material.
