Guillermo del Toro to Direct Superhero Flick!!!

I love Guillermo del Toro! I enjoyed "The Devil's Backbone" and "Pan's Labyrinth." I even thought twice about "Hellboy" and "Blade II."

But now, he's set to direct "Champions."

It's based on a 1960s British TV series about a team of secret government agents who are given superhuman abilities after surviving a plane crash.

Sorta like "Lost" meets "Heroes."

"American Gangster" Beats Bees at the Box Office

I'm glad "American Gangster" won over "Bee Movie" at the box-office. It's a better flick than the not-so-funny Seinfeld pic.

1. "American Gangster," $46.3 million.

2. "Bee Movie," $39.1 million.

4. "Dan in Real Life," $8.1 million.
5. "30 Days of Night," $4 million.

6. "The Game Plan," $3.85 million.

7. "Martian Child," $3.65 million.

Truly Trivial -- SHIA LABEOUF ARRESTED IN CHICAGO!!!!!

Amidst all the drama about WGA strike, this story caught my eye!!!

It's truly....disturbia!!!!

Shia, who I consider the Tom Hanks of our generation, has been arrested in Chicago...

Why Mister Shia? Please don't go to the "child actors gone bad" route!

AP is reporting that LaBeouf was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after the star refused to leave a Chicago drugstore!

What was he trying to buy at a drugstore?

At least the cops were saying Shia was "very courteous and polite."

WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA (WGA) STRIKE!!!

Here comes the inevitable...Hollywood goes to an all-out war even after scrambling about last-minute talks to delay or avert strike!

It's mostly about "residual anger." Writers want some cut on DVD profits! I say, just give it to them!

The last time the WGA hit the picket lines was 1988, and Hollywood lost $500M and about 9% of its viewing audience. TV was hit hard!

Now, Variety is saying it will happen again! The TV entertainment industry, will be the one greatly affected!

Just how?

And really, at the end of the day, how will this all affect us?
