This is so very much like "The Amazing Race." IT'S EXCITING!
This event is from my friends at Disney!
You've seen Ben Gates do it in National Treasure. Now it's your opportunity to compete in a clue hunt in Los Angeles!!! Ten teams of four people will traverse the city by foot, public transportation, and perhaps even more exotic modes of transportation as they race against the clock searching for hidden clues, solving mysteries and completing puzzles. The top two winning teams will travel to New York City on Wednesday, December 12 to attend the World Premiere of National Treasure: Book of Secrets and compete in one final clue hunt against winners from San Francisco and Washington DC.
The grand prize winning team will receive a prize package to travel the world courtesy of Orbitz!
There are two ways to participate:
1. Simply log onto www.nationaltreasurecluehunt.com by noon on Friday, November 30th, click on Los Angeles as your market and choose your favorite team. Once logged on, you'll have 12 minutes to attempt three puzzles…answer as many questions as you can within the time limit allotted. If you score the highest amount of points, you'll win a spot to compete in the clue hunt on Tuesday, December 4 with your team of 4 members. (Keep in mind you only have ONE TRY, so put up a good score!!)
2. Show up at the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank by 6:00am on Tuesday, December 4 with your team of four members. Once there you'll compete against other potential teams to participate in the Clue Hunt.
WHAT: National Treasure: Book of Secrets Clue Hunt
WHEN: Tuesday, December 4
TIME: 6:00am qualifying competition, 9:00am Clue Hunt begins

When the Independent Spirit Awards first started its broadcast on the Independent Film Channel in 1994, it was billed as the anti-Oscar.
You could watch the festivities during Oscar commercial breaks!
Now, the Independent Spirit Awards is broadcast the day before the Oscars, and time and time again, nominations between the two award-giving bodies overlapped (such as "Little Miss Sunshine" last year).
This morning (Nov. 27th), the nominations were announced! Congrats to the filmmakers behind "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," "I'm Not There," "Juno", "A Mighty Heart," and "Paranoid Park" for scoring Best Feature nominations.
Mister Zach Braff and Miss Lisa Kudrow served as nomination presenters.
The first-ever Robert Altman Award was also announced. And it's going to the visionary Todd Haynes and his film "I'm Not There." The solid ensemble cast is also honored (watch this flick for the great Cate Blanchett!).
The 2008 Film Independent's Spirit Awards ceremony will air on IFC on Saturday, February 23rd, the day before the Oscars.

Here's the latest about the writers strike:
*** for the first time in 3 weeks, producers and writers resumed bargaining Monday morning at an undisclosed Los Angeles hotel
*** it's the first of three days of talks
*** negotiations ended in the early evening, and resumed Tuesday at 10am
*** no comments from both sides
The collective sigh from everybody? AT LEAST THEY'RE TALKIN'

Brad Pitt was set to make the film "State of Play," an action-drama about a politician turned journalist whose investigation into a murder leads him to unsavory folks!
The film was set to begin shooting on Nov. 15th, but then, Universal issued a statement saying, "Brad Pitt has left the Universal Pictures production of 'State of Play.' We remain committed to this project and to the filmmakers, cast members, crew and others who are also involved in making the movie. We reserve all rights in this matter."
Brad Pitt said he didn't like the script rewrites, and would love to wait for the resolution of the writers strike before moving forward.
But apparaently, Universal said no, and now, the studio has been busy wooing another big star to replace Pitt!
