What's with the actors lately? Joaquin Phoenix created quite a stir when he revealed he's quitting acting for singing!
Now, Nicole Kidman may follow his footsteps.
Why? Because Miss Kidman wants to concentrate on being a mom to his three kids and possibly have more children (okay, that's commendable) and because the actress has been self-admittedly choosing quirky films lately (there's nothing wrong with that)!
Kidman says, "There are many things I want to do besides act."
But before she stops acting, Kidman has three films to work on namely the musical "Nine," and the dramas "Need" and "The Danish Girl" where she's supposed to play the world's first transsexual.
Come on Miss Nicole...give us more quirky movies...DON'T QUIT!

Another one of my childhood TV favorites is getting a big-screen treatment! "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" yay!
And now, our friends from Latino Review are saying a director has been hired! Who?
"Kung Fu Panda" director John Stevenson!
I enjoyed "Kung Fu Panda" but is Stevenson the right man for the job? Stay tuned...

Earlier this month, we told you about the planned remake of the 2003 Korean film "Oldboy." Will Smith is developing the movie with director Steven Spielberg.
Well, The Hollywood Reporter is saying Smith's "I Am Legend" co-screenwriter Mark Protosevich is in early talks to write the remake.
But there's one major catch! Apparently, Dreamworks' rights deal with Mandate Pictures (they own the rights to "Oldboy") is not complete...yet.
But who is this Protosevich anyway? Well, he's written "Poseidon" (bad) and "The Cell" (ho-hum) among others, and he's also worked on "Thor" (okay, exciting).

Well, it's still too early to tell. So far, my favorite documentaries are "Man On A Wire" and "Trouble the Water."
I love watching documentaries! It's like reality-TV but with a bigger brain and a much bigger heart. Oh yeah, and they're more gripping and interesting minus the now-famously corny reality-TV music.

Just look at the sexy screen grabs from the new trailer for "Star Trek."
Sex and violence may bring some necessary edge to the "Star Trek" franchise.
The trailer opens with a mysterious blond boy (who turns out to be James Tiberius Kirk). Then, lots of exploding ships, and glimpses of Sylar as Mr. Spock ("Heroes'" Zachary Quinto).
Then, some semi-naked action (check above pics).
And a fitting ending line delivered by Eric Bana as the villain Nero saying, "the wait is over."
Well, the wait is over...almost. We have to count months and days before "Star Trek" opens on May 8, 2009.
For now, fanboys and fangirls, let's drool on the spanking new trailer:
