"Bolt" Movie Review -- How Many Kisses Does the Lovable Canine Get?

In recent years, Walt Disney Pictures’ animated films do not match the quality of the movies the studio makes in collaboration with Pixar Animation. If the flick does not have Pixar’s stamp of approval, chances are it’s not that great.

I hate to sound elitist but just this year alone, the Disney/Pixar movie “WALL-E” trumps even those highly-rated animated films such as “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who” and “Kung Fu Panda.”

The reason I’m putting “Bolt” under my Pixar magnifying glass is because the movie is the first Walt Disney Animation Studios film that’s conceived and produced under the guidance of John Lasseter, the Oscar-winning director of “Toy Story,” “A Bug’s Life,” “Toy Story 2,” and “Cars.” Read More...

Universal to Remake "The Host"

I love "The Host." It was one of my favorite films of 2007.

Hollywood should learn how to make monster movies from Korean director BONG Joon-ho. The set-up, the thrills, the action, the complete package is similar to the nail-biting intensity of "Jaws."

So surprise, surprise, Universal wants a remake!

Just a word of advice, be great :happy

More Disney 3-D Films for You!

The wonderful "Beauty and the Beast" is one of the many Disney films to get a 3-D makeover!

Look, I'm all for preserving certain films' natural incarnation (I'm against colorization) so I honestly don't know how to quite feel about this.

On one hand, the tedious process of transferring a movie to the digitally crisp 3-D format is commendable, but on the other, I have a nagging question...why?

So we can put on funky 3-D glasses and go oooh and aaahhhh?

But no fret, Disney is also making new movies using their patented Disney Digital 3-D. Here's a quick lineup:

"Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Movie"
Robert Zemeckis' "Disney's A Christmas Carol"
"Toy Story"

Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland"
"Toy Story 2"
"Toy Story 3"
"Step Up 3"

To Act or Not to Act! Nicole Kidman May Say Goodbye to Showbusiness!

What's with the actors lately? Joaquin Phoenix created quite a stir when he revealed he's quitting acting for singing!

Now, Nicole Kidman may follow his footsteps.

Why? Because Miss Kidman wants to concentrate on being a mom to his three kids and possibly have more children (okay, that's commendable) and because the actress has been self-admittedly choosing quirky films lately (there's nothing wrong with that)!

Kidman says, "There are many things I want to do besides act."

But before she stops acting, Kidman has three films to work on namely the musical "Nine," and the dramas "Need" and "The Danish Girl" where she's supposed to play the world's first transsexual.

Come on Miss Nicole...give us more quirky movies...DON'T QUIT!

Who's Directing "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe?"

Another one of my childhood TV favorites is getting a big-screen treatment! "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" yay!

And now, our friends from Latino Review are saying a director has been hired! Who?

"Kung Fu Panda" director John Stevenson!

I enjoyed "Kung Fu Panda" but is Stevenson the right man for the job? Stay tuned...
