"Twilight" Gets a Sequel!!!

In the wake of "Twilight's" super huge Friday opening ($35.7 million), Summit Entertainment announced that they're moving forward with "New Moon," the second book in the franchise.

We don't know if director Catherine Hardwicke will return, but I've heard that Melissa Rosenberg has already begun writing.

Let's hope and pray that the second one will be MUCH BETTER than "Twilight." The book certainly is! It has a better narrative arch surrounding Edward leaving Bella to protect her from other vampires.

Oh and yeah, let's avoid lines like "you're my personal heroin" okay? :tongue

Um, "Oldboy" is Not a Remake Says Will Smith!

According to our friends at Film School Rejects, the planned "Oldboy" film with Will Smith set to star and Steven Spielberg to direct is not a remake of the Korean flick!

The last thing we heard about the planned film, Spielberg and company were trying to acquire the rights from Mandate Pictures.

So did that deal fall through, and now, Spielberg and friends are going to adapt the comic book instead?

But truth be told, I'd rather see a fresh take on the original source material than remaking a thoroughly engrossing film!

And I don't doubt Spielberg will create his own involving take about a kidnapped man out for revenge!

Shazam! "Captain Marvel" Zooms Sky High!

The "Get Smart" filmmaking team will soon shout Shazam! Director Peter Segal and his Callahan Filmworks partner Michael Ewing are being offered by Warner Bros. with a three-year first-look deal.

The studio also bought the script for "Captain Marvel" written by John August ("Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"), and is part of the three-year deal attached with Segal and Ewing.

Segal will direct the movie!

I used to love the TV series partnered with "Isis." Remember those cheesy but iconic shows? I used to click through them with my Viewfinder :happy

The New "X-Men" Film -- See the "Gossip Girl" Twist!

The "X-Men" franchise will get a younger set of mutants! Fox has declined to comment on the news, but I have a sneaky felling it will be based on the comic book franchise titled "X-Men: First Class."

Comicbook revolves around the characters Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Colossus, Jubilee and Shadowcat, but Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, Angel and Professor X may also appear.

So the "Gossip Girl" twist? Fox is seriously considering "Gossip Girl" creator Josh Schwartz to write "X-Men: First Class." It's still unclear if Schwartz is also being considered to direct the film.
