Will "Used Guys" Finally Materialize Now that Danny McBride Joins Cast?

It's been a long and winding road for sci-fi comedy "Used Guys." First, in 2006, Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller were attached to star for "Meet the Parents" director Jay Roach. Then Carrey and Roach left production. Why? Because of the project's rising cost of over $100 million.

The logline is kind of interesting though -- a future run by women and the men? They're all male slaves traded like cars!

Then last year, the project was given new life with the involvement of "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. The duo replaced Roach to helm the project, and Reese Witherspoon was attached to play the female lead.

Now, the Playlist is reporting that Faris and Dayton are still attached to direct but the big news? Danny McBride (“Eastbound and Down,” "Pineapple Express," "Tropic Thunder") is stepping into the role that once belonged to Carrey.

It's not certain whether Stiller and Witherspoon are still parts of the project's current incarnation.

"Men in Black 3" Shooting Now!

The third installment of "Men in Black" is now shooting in New York. Happy? The production will shoot through the week of Christmas, then shut down until the middle of February, when it will resume, according to the LA Times.

The 3-D film is written by Jeff Nathanson ("Catch Me If You Can," "Rush Hour 2") and he is working on a new draft of the script. He is suppose to work on the film's time-travel element ala "Back to the Future."

Apparently, Smith's Agent Jay will go back to 1969 where he meets a young Agent Kay played by Josh Brolin. Kay is the character that Tommy Lee Jones made famous.

Agent Jay will meet famous aliens such as Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, and Jimi Hendrix. Huh, all aliens are counterculture icons?

"Men in Black 3" is set to open May 2012 with director Barry Sonnenfeld back at the helm.

Mike White to Direct "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!"

Mike White ("Chuck & Buck," "The Good Girl," "Year of the Dog") aka erstwhile "Amazing Race" contestant, has been blessed by Lionsgate to direct "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

Based on Seth Grahame-Smith's novel (if you haven't read it yet, what are you waiting for?), the project combines Jane Austen's sense and sensibility narrative with zombies!

Original director David O. Russell left the project but left behind a really great script according to Deadline. Natalie Portman also exited. She was slated to star as Elizabeth Bennet. Perfect casting no?

Portman is still producing though, and once upon a time, Russell wanted Scarlett Johansson and Bradley Cooper for the Bennet and Mr. Darcy roles, respectively.

So who should star as Bennet and Mr. Darcy? I say, Carey Mulligan should star as Bennet. She's been getting all the parts lately! :happy
