Brad Pitt is in talks to replace Heath Ledger in the new film, "Tree of Life."
It's going to be directed by the respected helmer, Terrence Malick, and will be produced by River Road (who's currently basking in "Into the Wild" glory).
Sean Penn is set to co-star even though he's booked to play the title character in the Gus Van Sant flick, "Harvey Milk."

I'm a proud member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
We give out the annual Critics' Choice Awards -- a celebration of creativity at the movies and a great barometer for the Oscars.
So what's the Critics'Choice seal of distinction? Well, it is a recognition given to new movies receiving a high Critics' Choice Ratings score in the weekly voting.
Specific Critics’ Choice Ratings numbers for current releases or those dating back the past five years are available at www.bfca.org.
So which film just received the Critics' Choice seal of distinction?
I'm excited for this film...so mozzy on down! Read More...

Supposedly, Rascal is the only living and competing ugly dog to hold the coveted "Ring of Champions" title which makes him the current "World's Ugliest Dog".
Take a look at his picture, is this dog ugly?
So when I met him, I felt almost like a sorry feeling for him, if he only knew that people are calling him ugly. Because in person, Mister Rascal is cute and sweet.
So I had my picture taken with him, the world's ugliest dog meets the world's ugliest film critic :)

The other writing-directing siblings, the Wachowski Brothers, teamed up once again to bring us the big screen, live-action adaptation of "Speed Racer."
I've always been fond of these bros since "Bound," and I was mesmerized by "The Matrix" (I watched it 5 million times). I didn't like the last two "Matrix" films though, specially the last one, "The Matrix Revolutions," too much information ruined a darn good film!
There were rumors (among many swirling around this dynamic duo) that they stepped in to finish "V for Vendetta." And I enjoyed that flick! "Remember, remeber the 5th of November."
So now, I'm very curious on how they're going to put the pedal to the metal with "Speed Racer." I wasn't a big fan of the cartoon series when I was a child but I did enjoy the brief re-emergence of the character in the 90s with that club song, "Go Speed Racer Go."
We have to wait until May 2008 to see the flick, and right now, we just have to contend with the short trailer.
It's colorful, it's flashy, it looks like it's fun...and Emile Hirsch emerges from "Into the Wild" to speed race, and don the dominatrix-looking white leather outfit!

$76.5 million -- that's the opening box-office take of "I Am Legend." While the film was just okay (great intro and set-up, shlocky conclusion), apparently, people really, really love sci-fi flicks about last men on earth, and they really, really love Will Smith!
It's the biggest December opening ever, and a personal best for Smith!
Another good news but filed under "who knew" category is "Alvin and the Chipmunks" debuted at number 2 with $45 million bucks! Who knew Alvin and company are still loved?
Meanwhile, "Atonement" pulled in $1.85 million in just 117 theaters. Very impressive!
Overall business soared, with the top 12 movies taking in $153.6 million, up 39 percent from the same weekend a year earlier, when Smith also was No. 1 with a $26.5 million debut for "The Pursuit of Happyness."
