San Diego and Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics Choose "Slumdog Millionaire"

Critics are falling mighty hard for director Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire." Just recently, San Diego Film Critics and Dallas-Fort Worth Film Critics bestowed their top prize to the film!

Honestly, I enjoyed "Slumdog Millionaire" but not that much! It certainly deserves a slot in my Top 10, but the best of the best? Um, not really.

Which makes me ask. Are my fellow critics loving this movie for what happened to Mumbai in recent events? Or they genuinely think the movie is praise-worthy?

Just asking.

For best actor? It's neck and neck between Sean Penn ("Milk") and Mickey Rourke ("The Wrestler").

Ooohh...I love it when there's no clear winner -- makes for great drama!

"Frost/Nixon's" Writer, Peter Morgan, to Direct!

Peter Morgan, the genius screenwriter behind "The Queen" and "Frost/Nixon" is getting ready to direct!

His film of choice?

Another movie about British Prime Minister Tony Blair!

Morgan is obviously working on a trilogy about Blair beginning in 2003 with the Stephen Frears' directed TV movie called "The Deal," followed by the fantastic "The Queen."

The third flick will be called "The Special Relationship" and will once again star the great Michael Sheen as Blair.

So what is the special relationship in the title?

It is about the intimate relationship between Blair and President Bill Clinton between 1997 and 2000.

Hhmmmm, intriguing!

It's Confirmed! Rob Zombie is Returning for "Halloween" Sequel

We reported a couple of weeks back, that Rob Zombie may return to direct the sequel to his "Halloween" flick!

Now, it's confirmed! The rocker/director is teaming up with Dimension Films again for the next "Halloween."

The sequel will be called "H2" and will be released in October next year.

Besides directing, Zombie is also attached to write the sequel. Production will begin in March.

Zombie said his sequel will not mirror the original franchise's sequel, just like how his flick re-imagined John Carpenter's film.

Although I heard that boogeyman Michael Myers' sister will play an important role in the sequel, just how Jamie Lee Curtis' role became the catharsis in Carpenter's sequel.

So why did Zombie decide to do the sequel? He told Variety that:

"I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie said. "Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."
