Sandra Bullock Blindsides Werewolves, Vampires! "The Blind Side" Beats "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" at Box Office! See Complete Top 10 List!

The true-to-life football drama "The Blind Side" scored a touchdown over "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" with a victorious $20.4 million weekend. "The Blind Side" stole the No. 1 position from werewolves and vampires.

For the past two weekends, "The Blind Side" starring Sandra Bullock, had been the No. 2 film under "New Moon." But now, the vampire romance starring Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner slid to second place with $15.7 million.

Many insiders are saying that great word of mouth from fans helped make "The Blind Side" the box office winner.

The other great story for the box office weekend belonged to the George Clooney dramedy "Up in the Air." In just 15 theaters, the film took in nearly $1.2 million for a whopping per screen average of $79,000! Wow!

(Take a look at my review of "Up in the Air" and my interviews with director Jason Reitman, and stars Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick)

Meanwhile, Lionsgate's war drama "Brothers" debuted at No. 3 with $9.7 million averaging $4,646 in 2,088 theaters. Based on a 2004 Danish film, the movie stars Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Sony's thriller "Armored" starring Matt Dillon and Laurence Fishburne had a dismal premier with $6.6 million and tied for No. 6 with "2012."

Here's the Top 10 Box Office Films list for weekend of Dec. 4th:

1. "The Blind Side," $20.4 million.

"Ded Na Si Lolo" Movie Review -- the Oscars Best Foreign Film Entry of the Philippines!

"Ded Na Si Lolo" ("Grandpa is Dead") is the entry of the Philippines to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Film category. The dramedy is written and directed by Soxy Topacio starring Gina Alajar, Elizabeth Oropesa, Dick Israel, Roderick Paulate, Perla Bautista, and Manilyn Reynes.

I'm proud of this movie! It blends comedy and drama well to tell the story of a death in a family told through the eyes of a child, Bobet (BJ Forbes). When his grandpa dies, Bobet learns our steep superstitious beliefs involving death.

Good luck to Topacio and company, I hope the Academy chooses this film, but for now, take a look at my movie review of "Ded Na Si Lolo" as seen on Balitang America in The Filipino Channel.

"Entourage" the Movie?

Hold on "Entourage" fans, don't get excited yet! But it seems plausible and possible. After all, HBO gave us "Sex and the City the Movie," and the upcoming sequel, so the cable network may also produce "Entourage" the movie.

Executive Producer Mark Wahlberg revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that there are two seasons left of the show, and yes, a movie!

"We'll see; there could be more," he said at the premiere of his latest film, "The Lovely Bones." "But then, a movie."

HBO seems on board with the idea.

"It is not out of the realm of possibility," an HBO spokeswoman said about the prospect of an "Entourage" movie. "Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season."

So there you have it, "Entourage" fans, start bombarding HBO with emails requesting a film version!

Leonardo DiCaprio Gets Animated for "The Guardians"

Leonardo DiCaprio is getting 'toon up for the very first time! He'll make his cartoon debut in "The Guardians" from DreamWorks Animations. DiCaprio is set to voice the Jack Frost character with a twist!

Variety told us that "The Guardians" reimagines five popular childhood heroes -- Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost -- as members of an elite superhero squad who join forces to fight an evil spirit named Pitch (which suggests there are at least five more juicy voice parts yet to be filled).

Fun!

The film is based on an upcoming series of books by William Joyce called "The Guardians of Childhood." Peter Ramsey, who directed the DreamWorks Animation special "Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins From Outer Space," is set to helm.

"The Guardians" is targeted for release on Nov. 2, 2012.
