Matt Damon Interview for “Promised Land!” I Love Him!

This year alone, I sat down with both Ben Affleck for “Argo” and then now, Matt Damon for “Promised Land.” It’s like 1997 all over again when “Good Will Hunting” made movie magic. Damon returns with his “Good Will Hunting” director, Gus Van Sant, for “Promised Land,” a thoroughly entertaining and engaging movie about one community’s hopes and dreams. And this one is also pretty funny! In this interview, we talked about:

*** The film’s script
*** His boots that made an appearance in the film and Damon’s boots story about his daughter and a Koi pond
*** Why he compared his co-star John Krasinski to Ben Affleck
*** What made him not only star in the film but write the script too
*** His passion of writing
*** Working with Frances McDormand and his palpable chemistry with her
*** Why we root for Damon’s company henchmen character
*** His favorite films growing up and favorite movie performances
*** The magic of Absolut Madness!

John Krasinski Interview for “Promised Land!” Why Did He Write and Star in the Film?

I love interviewing John Krasinski! He’s always on-point and sweet and courteous and so on, and so forth. He’s just an amazing person! He co-wrote the script for “Promised Land” with Matt Damon, and co-star in the movie too where he plays Dustin Noble, the activist who is out to get Damon’s gas company salesman. I enjoyed this movie! For a message film, this one is very entertaining.

In this interview, we talked about:

*** What made him want to write and star in “Promised Land?”
*** American identity as a movie
*** The script and its nuances
*** The values of “Good Will Hunting”
*** Singing Karaoke
*** The likability of the script and Matt Damon

Rosemarie DeWitt Interview for “Promised Land!” I Love Her!

I love, love, love Rosemarie Dewitt! From “Mad Men” to “United States of Tara” to her film appearances this year in the fantastic “Your Sister’s Sister” and “Promised Land,” Dewitt is a fine actress. In “Promised Land,” she plays Alice, the woman between the dueling gas company salesman (Matt Damon) and activist (John Krasinski).

Sure, “Promised Land” is being called a fracking movie but it’s more than that – it’s about a community and their collected lives, hopes, and dreams. And it’s funny!

In this interview, Dewitt and I talked about:

*** Her character as the heart of the film
*** Her party-teacher character
*** What got her interested in making “Promised Land”
*** The film’s script written by Damon and Krasinski
*** The chemistry between Damon and Frances McDormand
*** Working with Matt Damon and John Krasinski
*** Matt Damon’s character’s evolution
