My Fun Interview with Anne Hathaway for “Les Miserables!’ I Told Her She’ll Win an Oscar!

I love, love, love Anne Hathaway! She’s quick-witted and sweet-natured and it’s always a pleasure interviewing her. Oh, when I walked into the room, instead of shaking my hand, she gave me a big hug, yes, we’re not big hug buddies, and I’m very happy!

Hathaway is having a great year – playing Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises,” and now Fantine in “Les Miserables.” Two great roles from two great movies in one whole year. Not to mention that the actress just got married and turned 30! Lots of big events for one of my favorite actresses. Wait until you see her signature “Les Miserables” song “I Dreamed a Dream” – she will make you cry buckets!

In this interview, we talked about:

*** She loves my shirt, she tells me I’ll get an award, so I bounce back by telling her she’ll get an Oscar – watch her reaction
*** Such dedication to the craft!
*** Working with director Tom Hooper
*** Auditioning for the role
*** The sung-through process
*** The vulnerability of singing while acting
*** How she lost 25 lbs in 5 weeks to play Fantine
***2012 as her year!
*** And I ended it by congratulating her for her Oscar!

Have fun! :happy

Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean) Interview for “Les Miserables”

My life is now fulfilled – I’ve witnessed Wolverine sing! And boy, does Hugh Jackman give his blood, sweat, and tears for the role of prisoner 24601, Jean Valjean. Jackman carries the movie from start to finish. You see him skinny, young, old – and a brilliant performance all throughout. In this interview, we talked about:

*** What attracted him to the role of Jean Valjean
*** The rigorous 3-hour audition process
*** The Valjean diet of no food, no water, and 3-hour exercise
*** The transformation of his character
*** What was his connection to “Les Miserables?”
*** I told him a secret – why I love the movie better than the play
*** Wolverine the Musical

Have fun! :happy

Amanda Seyfried (Cosette) Interview for “Les Miserables”

I love me some Amanda Seyfried. She’s always sweetly feisty in my interviews with her. But in the film, she plays the innocent Cosette, the heart and light of the film. Wait until you see her showstopping number, “In My Life”/”A Heart Full of Love” sung with Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks. In this interview, we talked about:

*** The rigorous audition process – she invoked President Obama
*** Playing Cosette
*** Her connection with Cosette when she was a little girl
*** The importance of “On My Own”

Have fun! :happy
