Imagine opening a Wonka chocolate bar and actually finding a Golden Ticket. 🍫🎫

For Tatum and her mom, Kellye, that fantasy became reality when they entered the wonderfully wild world of Netflix’s “Wonka’s The Golden Ticket.”

I had such a fun time talking with the mother-daughter duo about everything from the nerve-racking audition process to finally stepping inside a world inspired by the chocolate factory so many of us grew up dreaming about.

For Tatum, the adventure began long before she ever entered Wonka’s world. She first had to apply — and then came the waiting.

So naturally, I wanted to know: Was she constantly checking her email wondering where her Golden Ticket was?

Then came the moment she actually opened the chocolate bar and discovered that coveted ticket inside.

And Tatum had another important decision to make: Who would she bring along for the adventure?

She chose Mom! ❤️

I asked Kellye what went through her mind when her daughter essentially told her, “Mom, you’re coming into Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with me!”

But there’s another delicious twist to this story.

Tatum played Veruca Salt when she was a kid!

Yes, really.

So when she suddenly found herself competing inside Wonka’s world years later, there was only one question to ask: Did little Veruca ever come back out?

“I want a Golden Ticket — and I want it NOW!” 😂

Tatum and Kellye also share something else that makes them uniquely suited for the competition: they’re both pageant women. We talked about whether their experience handling competition, pressure and keeping their composure prepared them for the unpredictable challenges of Wonka.

But beneath all the candy, spectacle and competition, there’s a genuinely sweet mother-daughter story.

Who was the strategist? Who was more likely to forget the plan and just go for it? And did they discover anything about each other during the experience that genuinely surprised them?

I ended our conversation by asking them to forget about winning for a moment.

After everything they experienced together, what was the real Golden Ticket they walked away with as mother and daughter?

“Wonka’s The Golden Ticket” is streaming on Netflix.

And suddenly, opening an ordinary chocolate bar just doesn’t feel quite as exciting anymore. 🍫😂
