Martin Scorsese to be Honored by the Motion Picture Association of America

The great Martin Scorsese will be honored by the MPAA with the Jack Valenti Humanitarian Award! The award is given to industry folks "whose work exemplifies a dedication to humanity and community."

Clint Eastwood was the first to receive the Jack Valenti Humanitarian Award in 2007.

Why is Scorsese being bestowed the honor? MPAA chairman and CEO Dan Glickman says, the director "for decades has exemplified an extraordinary sense of community both on and off screen."

The award will be given in Washington on April 21 during MPAA's "The Business of Show Business" symposium.

Congratulations Mister Scorsese!
