The American Film Institute (AFI) has unveiled their Top 10 lists in both movies and TV categories. "Bridesmaids" managed to sneak in among surefire Oscar contenders such as Alexander Payne's "The Descendants," Steven Spielberg's "War Horse," and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo."
But Oscar front-runner "The Artist" was omitted! Why? Because it's not an American production; hence, ineligible.
In the Television category, the comedies "Modern Family" (ABC) and "Parks and Recreation" (NBC) enjoyed top billing among "Boardwalk Empire" (HBO) and "Breaking Bad" (AMC).
"The Artist" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" received AFI Special Awards for their "outstanding achievements in the moving image that do not fit into AFI's criteria for the other honorees."
Here's the complete list of the AFI Awards 2011:

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS
THE TREE OF LIFE
TELEVISION PROGRAMS OF THE YEAR
CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM
