“Being the Ricardos”

I love, love, love “Being the Ricardos” and the fantastic performances from Nicole Kidman as our icon Lucille Ball and Javier Bardem as Desi Arnaz.  Writer/director Aaron Sorkin crafted a film with the thesis that during a time when the world had a narrow definition of manhood came Lucille Ball who changed it all.  And I’m here for it! 

I spent some time with both Kidman and Javier during one lovely weekend in New York City to talk about the film and the Ricardos. 

“Being the Ricardos” is in select theaters on Dec. 10th and streams on Amazon Prime on Dec. 21st. 

J.K. Simmons and Nina Arianda are equally great as William Frawley and Vivian Vance, respectively.  I spoke with both actors to talk about the film, and the rallying cry of “Being the Ricardos.” 

I always enjoy talking to Aaron Sorkin.  He gives the best answers in an astute and sometimes playful way.  He explained his interest in making “Being the Ricardos,” zeroing in on Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem as his main leads, and the power of Lucille Ball.
